It is very good for my venus flytraps and sundews as it tests out as 0.0ppm on my water meter. However, the new jug packaging is terrible! Why did you change it? The new package is much thinner plastic and is almost impossible to pour without it spilling everywhere. As such I have kept 1 of the original jugs and use a funnel to pour the new jug's water into it ( which is a pain and you usually still spill/lose some of the water. ). There is a reason why every other company uses the same 1 gallon jug design ( your old design ), because it works 1000% better than your "new" one. I understand that you may have changed it to lower costs by using this thinner/cheaper plastic design, but you are going to lose even more money if your customers stop buying it altogether because it is to difficult to use!
I use distilled water for a lot of things, especially my humidifiers. Distilled water is distilled water. But this Great Value is a little more expensive than the Baby distilled water. It's only pennies, but they add up after awhile. There is no taste or aftertaste. If there is, it's not been distilled well (gotten rid of all minerals).
Picture shows a gallon of water like what milk comes in, when however you get a tall jug. The picture dictates other than what I’m getting. Need two hands to pour as the other gallon only one hand. Please change the picture as I wouldn’t order the jugs. I now go to Publix to buy my gallon water
The new cheaper container with the plastic handle at the top makes it difficult to pick up containers up. The older container with the handle molded into the makes it easier to pick container up with the weight balanced in the middle of the container. For seniors and individuals that are challenged buy lifting a unbalanced container. Trying to hold the full weight of the container becomes heavier, unbalanced and two hands must be used to lift the heavy container with all the weighed carried by the to and the cheap plastic handle cuts into your hand. It also makes it cumbersome to put it into the refrigerator with having to use the top strap rather the side like all milk jugs etc. At the store the jugs are always place on the top shelf where you have to try and find an employee that works in that department that can get a ladder to handle the weight by pulling jug up from the top. I usually buy 8 to 12 jugs at a time and this really makes it very difficult to handle these miserable heavy containers. For seniors and handy caped individuals this miserable design makes it extremely difficult to use. Why the change? I'm sure this has to be a cheaper change with no consideration for older and challenged customers.
I actually like the distilled water. I use it in medical, and other devices around the house. My problem is with the new bottle design. The lumpy bottle, and handle on top make it very difficult to neatly poor the water into things. I prefer the "old" milk jug design.
I hate, hate, hate the new bottle! Bring bk tge " milk" jug with handle! this product is always placed on top rack making it hard to reach. The flimsy new containers , stacked one after the other, press together . In addition to the height of placement new packaging lacks comfortable handles making getting gallon down that much harder! And just pouring from the thin plastic is a challenge ! I hate this change!!
The new packaging of Great Value Distilled Water is terrible. The flimsy plastic blocky container is difficult to handle. The three most common uses of distilled water is filling a CPAP, mixing baby formula, and filling a nasal spray bottle. Each requires precise controlled pouring. It is VERY difficult to maintain control with the hew packaging. I’m buying Parents Choice brand from now on until Great Value goes back to the milk jug packaging.
It feels a bit silly to be reviewing distilled water. I wouldn't have thought it was something pretty standard and ideally unchanging. But no, some genius at Walmart decided that instead of the good old squat plastic gallon containers, which I could lift and manipulate fairly well, now we have a taller and for some reason much harder to manipulate gallon container. I mean, it's got to weigh the same, right? Sure doesn't seem like it.
I absolutely despise the new clear containers for distilled water. They are hard to carry--the handle is too small and has sharp edges--and it is difficult to pour without spilling. In the future, I will pay a slightly higher price to get the traditional "milk jug" containers from my local market. (I usually buy one at least every two weeks for my CPAP.
If the water comes in the jug like milk jugs, I would recommend. It now comes in a clear plastic jug and the tip is many times smashed down and you lose water when you unscrew the lid. It is also very hard to pour and I again spill some when the container is most of the way full. I never had a problem with the opaque colored jugs that look like what milk comes.
