They were soak proof but not crack poof. When a banana was placed on the opposite side with an Activia 4oz. yogurt cup and on the other side.. Oops! The Great Value Soak Proof foam plate went free-falling to the floor. The plates are swell for cake or chips and dips and even sandwiches, but not a good balancing act for a banana on one one end and yogurt on the other. I will still buy you for the price if nothing else. I've handled worse.
I bought the Great Value Soak Proof Foam Plates (8.8 inch, 150 count) because they're affordable and you get a lot of plates for the price. They do hold up pretty well against liquids and greasy foods, so the soak-proof part actually works. My only complaint is that the plates are very thin. Most of the time I end up doubling or even tripling the plates depending on what I'm eating so they don't bend too much. Overall, they're decent for the price and good for lighter meals or quick use, but I do wish they were made a little sturdier
The Great Value soak proof foam plates are good for light desserts or appetizers that are wet or contain grease. I suggest not using these plates for super-hot foods or you will have a melting effect. The plates cannot handle a lot of weight. If you are looking at a meal that consists of fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, collards, biscuits and sweet potato casserole, do not walk around with these plates or they will be flimsy enough to lose your food. If your plate does not leave the table and you load it up with food it's great.
I am surprised that the quality of the plates has gone down trimdeously. You can no longer put a piece of chicken, a scoop of potatoes salad and some beans on the plate and pass the plate to someone. I literally have to place my hand underneath the plate and do a side motion to ease it on the table and push hand slide, push hand slide to get it around the kids table. BLAH BLAH BLAH with the new high price and poor quality.
Used to love these and have bought multiple times. (teenagers who forget to return regular plates to sink). Not sure if a bad batch or what but there is hardly any lip on them. Can barely see the design on the edges and they are flimsy as heck. Used to have to use 2 if like FILLING the plate. Now you have to use 2 for the support. Will check at store and if they look the same, will NOT buy again. Would return this batch, but actually bought for a family event.
What in the world happened to Walmart plates?! They curl up in both ends prior to using(,paper plates don't do that) the Styrofoam is sloop thin you must use 3 at a time. The only thing it holds is a thin slice of cake( please don't add ice cream) or a small sandwich! This is one time Walmart should be ashamed of themselves
I'm sure it was kind of busy today at Walmart but I did not get the plates I look for them and I thought I had ordered them so I came back to look on my order and I saw that they was on there I was charged for them but I did not receive them and I kept looking and I went and did inventory with my order and what I received.
Went to pick up groceries today, ordered the styrofoam plates. When I was putting away groceries, took plates out of bag and the are so bent it's ridiculous! Who could use them??? I just had a total knee replacement and couldn't go in first to buy fruits, veggies etc. This is why I hate pick up, u get the crushed boxes of cereal, bruised fruits, black bananas, dented cans, etc. I want these refunded!
I buy these plates all the time and usually not a problem. This time I ordered them and when they arrived they were warped and warped even more when you put anything warm on them. They were not the usual quality. When I tried to return the plates on my order it said I have to return to the store or print a label for pickup. I don't have a printer and I'm not spending more money in gas to return them to the store than the amount these plates cost. Walmart please do better quality control!
I have bought these plates for years and have always Like to them. I have seven kids so they work great for our family. The last four times I have bought them though they have been terrible! I’m not sure if they’re having trouble in manufacturing or what’s going on, but they are thin and the patterns not even on them that’s supposed to show up.
