I wasn't sure what to expect, but these turned out to be really good. The outside gets crispy while the inside stays soft and fluffy, and the garlic Parmesan seasoning adds a lot of flavor without being overpowering. They cooked up nicely in the air fryer and made a great side dish without much effort. They're also surprisingly versatile. I've had them with burgers, chicken, steak, and even by themselves with a little ranch for dipping. The smashed shape gives them plenty of crispy edges, which are the best part. I have to admit, the first time I read "smashed potatoes," I wondered who got so mad at them. Thankfully, all that frustration resulted in something delicious. I'll definitely be keeping a box or two in the freezer.
The best! They are tasty, crispy on the edges and real potatoes. Walmart needs to bring green giant smashed potatoes back. The kinder brand they are trying to replace it with is NOT the same! I tried them and won't buy the kinder brand again. I end up buying the green giant smashed potatoes at different grocery store because the walmarts around me aren't stocking them any longer.
These are amazing. For the bad reviews, let me teach you a cooking lesson. I put mine on 30 minutes in the oven, I flipped them after 15. Then I broiled them for a few minutes. If they aren't crispy enough, then use common sense and cook them longer. I am a seasoning person. I have probably 30 seasoning in my spice cabinet if not more. These, to my shock and surprise, were seasoned well. I tasted a lot of garlic, not as much Parmesan but the garlic was plentiful. You can always add more seasoning of course but we loved the package we got. Idk if we got lucky or if other people are dramatic. Bought two more today.
They are messy in various shaped pieces, but that's what I expected. The seasoning is perfect for me, not too overbearing in taste. I just reordered them again today. I am a picky eater. One of the few prepared foods that I will eat.
More than half of them were broken into 2-4 pieces. They taste good, easy to air fry. The only reason I downgraded my review is due to the poor packaging that caused half of them to be broken into small pieces.
a bit over spiced i think and i like spicy. good texture of the potato and cooked great in the air fryer. will try again but will pair it with something to tone down the spice
These were blah tasting. I did them per air fryer directions, even added a couple of minutes to crisp up. If i added cheese or some extra toppings probably better but I wouldn't buy them again
Overall i found these very soggy . I expected something crispy and found soggy potatoes . I used my air frier as suggested and added a little time as recommended by some other reviewer but the outcome was relatively limp potatoes also mine seemed to lack a taste i had expected.
Green Giat Crispy Smashed Potatoes are not, in real life, anything like what is advertised on the box. They tasted ok, but they weren't crispy, and they didn't look anything like the picture. The box says that one serving is 3 pieces and there are four servings in the box. So, I assumed that I would have 12 nice sized potatoes, but I guess when they said "pieces" they meant crumbs. I have included a picture of what came in the box before I air fried it and a picture of the not crispy pieces after they had been airfried, according to the directions, for 9 minutes at 375. They needed another 3 minutes to not be soggy, but they were never crispy. I was very disappointed in this product.
I could not taste ANY garlic or Parmesan! I used the Air Fryer, as recommended. These were very disappointing. Highly recommend doing your own version.
