These La Costena Pickled Nacho Jalapeno Slices are a regular buy for our household. We like that they are the perfect heat, are sliced mostly the same size, and are not "mushy" like some other brands. We use them quite a few different recipes and they always work just fine. Just wish I could get a much bigger jar!
If you want spicy jalenpenos, this is it. If you want vinegar jalenpenos go with the basic brands. I was so tired of getting mild peppers in a jar that smelled of pure vinegar. Give me hotness, give me some sweats, give me spicy. And then I bought these. .My food prayer had been answered! I put these on frozen pizzas, homemade chicken quesadillas, chili, tacos, where ever there needs a hot kick.
These jalapeño slices understood the assignment. They are perfectly spicy, crunchy, and instantly upgrade anything they touch: nachos, tacos, sandwiches, or even a late-night “standing at the fridge” snack. The flavor is bold without being overwhelming, and the jar disappears faster than I care to admit. Highly recommend if you like your food with a little kick and a lot of personality.
La Costeña always has great true Mexican-TexMex products from the real folks that know. Their products are always consistent in quality and taste, not smokin' hot and not too mild either. Just right all the time. All their products are consistent. These are great on pizza, sandwiches, on chili, other dishes where you want a little spice but no blister you lips and throat.
I used to buy a different brand of jalapenos for many years and stumbled over these when my regular jar was sold out. While I bought them at first as a quick temporary replacement, they have become my absolute new favorite. These are premium jalapenos slices. No stems, no nasty part or anything that sadly sometimes finds its way in the jar. These are really great and have a nice texture. They have a slight bite to it, that means they are not soaked and nasty. I am absolutely amazed, the flavor is incredible and I don't think I ever had an other brand that tasted so very close to fresh ones.
I've never cared for jalapeños until I tried these. I realized I loved them when they're pickled. I tried these and I've been eating them ever since. Great amount of dill flavoring mixed with the jalapeño. It's great!
Consistent quality!! Taste, spice level, @ overall qualty!! This is the best on the market! I always gave a jar in my fridge %26 1 in my pantry-I LOVE my prpoers!!
the flavor is phenomenal, unfortunately they tend to be kinda soggy tasting in the first 1/3 of the jar. they are still very good though, and i will keep buying them.
These are absolutely my favorite jalapeños. I get them to use in all of my dishes, which is a lot because I love adding jalapeños to just about anything I can.
You get the strong vinegar pickle taste. You get the heat. It tastes fresh. It's a good value, a big jar for reasonable cost. What I'd do is put 2-3 on top of an appropriate meal (Smothered burrito?) that could provide a refreshing zing. What I'd probably not do (again) is chop up 10 of them and mix them in refried beans again. But you probably know this going in.
