I've purchased McCormick brand spices and I've purchased off-brand spices, and I can say that McCormick brand spices are always the best. I put this basil on a pizza, on tomato soup and on grilled chicken and it was delicious on all 3. I would definitely recommend this basil to anyone looking for high quality spices!

I adore basil. I prefer it over oregano and will go heavy with it any time I make pasta. I really struggled with what to do with the product once I received it. Which seems silly. Basil automatically means spaghetti sauce to me. But I really wanted to try it do something unique with it beyond pasta sauce. So I did a little research on what flavor profiles that basil works with beyond tomatoes and garlic. Also since it's almost fall I settled on a dessert instead of a savory dish. I decided to try my hand at a blackberry and basil sourdough. That didn't work out as well as I wanted but I did like the flavor so I decided to keep it some and next did blackberry scones with a basil and lemon glaze. My husband said they were delicious but "bougie". I took them to work and they were gone 10 minutes after I put them on the food counter.

The delicious and fresh it's hard to believe that it's a dried. It has a stronger aroma and I enjoy the lid how it has easily opens with a fliptop and the holes are big enough that I feel like I'm getting a lot of spice with a little effort. McCormick Basil is fresh and flavorful. The leaves have a nice aroma and add great taste to sauces, soups, and veggies. Super convenient when I don't have fresh basil on hand. I really like the look and functionality of the new style lid. It closes tight to keep the basil fresh longer. A pantry must have!

McCormick spices are banned in Europe. Look it up don't buy McCormick basil, ginger, oregano, paprika, thyme and turmeric I threw mine out they are changing their name. Lead etc. they lost a lawsuit
