The smell is awful but that's the point; it's meant to help break a habit. When you use oils and extracts in products, the scent will be stronger than artificial fragrances, the longer they sit. Besides, if it smelled great, you'd keep putting your fingers in your face and mouth. The instructions say to apply daily, removing completely once a week, and that it's easily removed. Again, to be expected, this product can be used on anyone and not everyone likes the shiny just polished look all the time and some jobs don't allow nail polish for employees. Plus being able to remove the polish in a cinch is great when time is limited. I will say, after 31 years, I have found a product that keeps my fingers away from my face and mouth. To me, the scent is nauseating and when I did put my finger in my mouth, it tasted like a pack of cigarettes. I quickly regretted my decision and kept my fingers "out of the way" for the rest of the day. I have recommended this product to parents of thumb-suckers and they actually liked the results. It takes 21-28 days to break a habit, so I'd say give it a try for at least 3 weeks before you toss it.

the polish does not last on nails plus the taste is not as bad as it should be to stop the nail bitting

First day i used this i noticed it left a oily coat on my nails which i dont mind they need hydration but hours after when i showered it started to peel off like dry glue haven't biten then as much today. Im going to keep applying the polish along with lotion and im going to continue to use it and see if i see any results in a month or so i have bitten my nails all my life and this is cheapest thing i came across in store i hope it helps me

The reason I gave this such a low rating is because it did nothing for me as far as deterring me from biting my nails. I couldn't taste anything that was supposed to be helpful..

Doesn't work well for thumb suckers. Did not detour my 4 year old at all.

It was supposed to taste bitter so you dont bite your nails it didn't really have a taste so it didn't work. And the nail bitting continues.

Not really what I expected. It does have a unique peppermint smell but as far as stopping from nail biting it doesn't work. My son still bit his nails an hour later.

did not work. lucky for us we had tried a different one before this so we knew what a good nail polish was like for stopping thumb sucking. this one did not taste bad enough.

there is nothing that would stop you from biting your nails or stop you from sucking your thumb.

Smells terrible but has no taste. Doesn't work to not bite nails Might work for nose pickers
