I am just as satisfied eating dried cranberries with no added sugar. But at least I found one with half reduced sugar at Walmarts. Most grocery stores only carry packages with sugar, thus defeats anyone enjoying cranberries without diabetic contributing sugar. Besides eating them as is for snacks, these berries are incorporated into salads, or desserts where sugar or other sweetener is already in the rest of the recipe
Lower sugar and I couldn't tell nor could the family. I made a wonderfully delicious kale, cranberry, and walnut salad. The salad usually leans on the sweetness from the cranberries so I was initially concerned I would be able to tell or that the salad would not be sweet enough. To my surprise they tasted great like the full sugar Ocean Spray I had previously purchased. It's these small changes like this here that lend to better health. Half the sugar and no one could tell. I am sticking with these 50% less sugar option from now on.
These deliver a full, robust cranberry flavor that really stands out. What surprised me most is that even though they're dried, they don't have that shriveled, dried out texture you sometimes get with other dried fruits. They're tender and chewy in a way that makes them genuinely enjoyable to eat. My favorite way to use them is in salads. That sweet cranberry flavor plays perfectly against the saltiness of croutons and cheese, and it adds a little something extra that takes an ordinary salad to another level. It's one of those combinations where the ingredients just work together really well. That said, they're just as good straight out of the bag as a snack. Satisfying, sweet, and a much better option than reaching for something processed when you want a little something between meals. If you're looking for a versatile, healthy ingredient that does double duty as both a salad topper and a standalone snack, Craisins are a easy choice. Great flavor, great texture, hard to go wrong.
this are one of my favorite little snacks. you can take the bag with you too love the dealing bag. and less sugar with same great taste. definitely recommend
years ago they gave a little free pack in special k cereal boxes and ever since I've been hooked. I always have a bag at home to snack on or toss in some cereal. I prefer the less sugar one, it's still sweet with less
there was a recipe on the back of the package that I used along with Quinoa. I used walnuts and unsweet coconut in addition to as a healthy munchy snack for me I keep in a little container in the refrigerator.
I was buying the original and decided to try the less sugar and I was pleasantly surprised I actually liked them better! My new go to for my oatmeal cereal or snack time!
i like the fack that it's low in Sugar , I was born a diabetic and use it in my oatmeal in the mornings when preparing it. I make it fresh and a small teaspoon is great in a fresh cooked bowl for me.
I don't know this is difficult for me. I kind of like these but I want the taste to be stronger. The real reason I bought these was for homemade muffins and of course when I made my muffins I forgot to add these so I'm not sure how they would have worked. They are sort of raisin like, they're dried but still kind of soft and chewy but the flavor is kind of disappointing. I put them my salad last night and they just sort of blended in with everything, they didn't really stand out. I was expecting them to have a distinctive sharp/sour flavor that would add a little zip to my salad, they didn't. They weren't sour or zippy they were kind of boring. I'll have to wait and see what they are like in muffins but I suspect they won't be anything to cheer about.
I tried the original cranberries as a snack and loved them. I was happy to see they also came with less sugar, which I have to watch, so tried them also. The only problem is I can't take the taste. Yuck Others might like, thought I could get used to the less sugar, but no. The original is such a great snack though, probable the same as raisins which are naturally high in sugar, but both have fiber. Hard to win the sugar battle
