I ultimately used this ribbon to make hair bows for my niece, but I needed a specific color. Ordering online and having to rely on images that can be easily manipulated or distorted makes it very difficult to determine whether or not something is going to work for you. So I took a chance on the Maize Yellow Ribbon. I have experienced that the term “maize” when referring to a shade of yellow is not always consistent— seems maize can applied to both light and dark shades of yellow. I was looking for a bright yellow that was on the warm side but without an orangish tint. A strong yellow that kinda resembles the yellow found in an autumn leaf when it changes colors. When I received the ribbon— the color was exactly what I had hoped it would be— a golden yellow that was both earthy and brilliant. The texture of the ribbon is that of what you would expect from grosgrain—the measurements were consistent throughout—no imperfections, no color discrepancies, slight stretch, easy to cut— perfect for making hair bows. Looks and feels durable and of decent quality. For the low price it is definitely a great value. I would definitely recommend this ribbon and plan to buy more.
