Awesome! Please Make sure you Toast

Unknown October 15, 2024

I was so excited to discover the low carb hard shells. I typically purchase the tortillas but was tired of having soft tacos. I warmed them up in the oven and they were great! I will continue to purchase these! MAKE SURE YOU WARM THEM UP AS INSTRUCTED AND ENJOY!

Low Carb Taco Heaven

Skyhigh97 March 24, 2025

First of all, I don't know what all of the negative comments are all about with these. My only guess is that those who complained were not truly accustomed to the low carb lifestyle at all. If they were, then they would know that these are an incredible substitute for the high carb version %26 absolutely delightful to those of us who haven't been able to enjoy a good crunchy taco in years. Is the texture different than a “real” corn shell? Of course it is (hello, this is low carb eating we're talking about here,) but they're an extremely close replication of the real deal. They are only slightly thicker than a regular shell, and my experience is that they are best heated in the oven %26 not the microwave - it gives them a better crunch. Overall I couldn't be happier to eat a good old crunchy taco again without sending my blood sugar through the roof, and these are truly a delicious treat to my taste buds.

Great way to get fiber

NikF July 24, 2024

Old El Paso Carb Advantage Gluten Free Crunchy Taco Shells If you are looking for a way to get more fiber in your diet, this is the product for you. The Carb Advantage taco shell has 6 net carbs, 100 calories and 11g fiber for two shells. The extra fiber comes from the corn bran and soluble corn fiber. It does contain xanthan %26 cellulose gum as a thickening agent, so if you are sensitive to that I would stay away from this product. I did not experience any gastric discomfort. It has a scant more salt than the regular shells. The taste and texture was just like the classic taco shell. No awful chemical or off-putting taste. The shell is slightly lighter in color. We heated them in the oven like the classic crunchy tacos and stuffed them with beef, seasoning, cheese, lettuce and sour cream. They held up pretty well. We will definitely try them again and recommend for a high fiber diet.

Perfect crunch with low carbs! Win-win taco shell

aeshas3_757 August 29, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm seriously impressed. As someone who's mindful of carbs but refuses to compromise on flavor or texture, these shells are exactly what I've been looking for. Honestly, I love when a brand gets it right like this. Would love to try more Old El Paso low-carb or better-for-you options! this was a 10/10 experience for me.

Not worth the lower “carb advantage”!!!

Cpat10 December 2, 2025

I am only complaining because the flavor is truly awful! I'm guessing the box they came in likely tastes better. They just didn't have an ounce of flavor. It tasted like cardboard. I see that the tortillas have better reviews so I may try those. Please elevate the flavor and texture of these!

Not good

Nachotacoshell August 2, 2025

Awful! Bought a pack and all but 4 were broken. Tasted one and it tasted stale. Put the 4 that wasn't broken into the oven to toast and they collapsed and couldn't put anything in them. Think you need to redo and try a different recipe for them. I typically love Old El Paso products but not this one.

UGH - Don't Waste Your Money!

anonymous September 13, 2024

Being an Old El Paso product, I had such high hopes for the low carb taco shells. Sadly, my opinion of them is anything but high. They are are awful. They're thicker than your standard taco shell yet have the texture of a cracker - a very old cracker - and tastes like, what I would imagine, old stale cardboard. They, of course, cracked into a million pieces when you tried to eat them as they are very brittle. I truly expected better from this manufacturer. I don't recommend these AT ALL. I recommend you save your carbs and have a regular taco shell or two. These definitely aren't worth the money or wasting your ingredients.
