(3 pack) Roland Anchovy fillets in Olive Oil, Allergens Not Contained, 4.23oz Glass Jar

I've only eaten King Oscar brand for half-a-century, but as they've gotten so expensive, I've largely quit buying them. These are nearly half the cost, and I've been keeping a jar on hand for my homemade spaghetti sauce, and to dress-up a frozen pizza. Unlike the flat cans, the jar presents quite a challenge to get them out without tearing...next time I come across a tiny plastic cocktail fork, I'm keeping it just for these.

Add a few fillets to any dish for some extra flavor and seasoning. If you've never had anchovies this is a great way to try some out. Good to use straight out of the jar or cook them and they pretty much dissolve after a few minutes. Put them in a sandwich, salad, or on cheese pizza. Mix them into humus and dips. Cook them into pasta sauce, cream sauce, soups. Saute them with veggies, ground meat, shrimp, scallops. The oil can get a little messy, so whenever I open a fresh bottle I use a paper towel to soak a little of it up.

Excellent quality, flavor and size. The only bother is that the olive oil is filled to the top and immediately oozes out when you first open the bottle! What a mess. But it's great to have these in a jar, compared to a tin (which also is a mess!). These are larger than the name brand tin anchovies, and they tend to stay intact when you pull them out of the jar. The canned ones tend to have thin strips that may not even be fully cut, and those in the can just keep flaking and pulling into small pieces. Not these! Also, great flavor.

The best anchovies in the world come from Peru because of the warm waters. Only 1/10 of 1% are sold over the counter. The rest are purchased by Chile and Norway for their farm raised Atlantic Salmon.. These guys sell the Peruvian ones during parts of the year. At 60 yrs of age I have no high blood pressure, take no prescription meds and haven't been to a Doctor in over 20 years. Wonderful for your health

Love them, love the free delivery. I make Totinos party pizza in my air fryer, 10 minutes at 370. Then add red onion, 6 anchovie filets, fresh basil from the garden, 9 pepperoni slices, mozzarela cheese. 5 for minutes in the air fryer, cut it into 6 pieces. Great little meal, the pizza is around $1.50. Been buying this brand for the last month and this is my 4th jar. Great flavor, and free shipping to my door with Walmart plus. Since it is outside of my regular grocery delivery it's nice to not even have to tip the driver. Just 1 little jar of anchovies that aren't available at my neighborhood market.

The best packaged anchovy fillets I have found - good flavor and texture, convenient package. You don't have to use it all at once. Does have a LOT of olive oil to drain off, but even the oil has a clean, delicate flavor.

What is this? I open the jar and it’s got anchovies only to just short of half of the jar. It only looked full because it had anchovies stuck around the sides but nothing in the center!

I thought I was buying a full jar of anchovies! it only looked full because the anchovies are stuck to the side and there's nothing in the middle, what a rip off!

I like the product and have bought several times but the last 6 bottles did not have the tamper resistant tape on the side of bottles. I didn't notice until the last 4 we're delivered and the bottles were oily on the labels, like they were opened before they were delivered. One bottle is leaking olive oil if you turn it on it's side. I called customer service and they are refunding me for the last 4 ordered but NOT the 2 previous one's I bought that did not have tampering tape.

I'd never tried anchovies before, but I was genuinely excited. I've read they're packed with omega-3s, protein, and flavor — basically little health bombs that also elevate food. Well… these elevated nothing but my blood pressure. They were so salty I couldn't even get through a full bite. I tried rinsing them, soaking them in milk, offering one to my dog (she sniffed it and backed away like I'd offended her ancestors). This wasn't a bold umami experience — it was punishment. If this is your first time trying anchovies, do not let these be the ones. I'm honestly requesting a refund. This isn't food, it's a dare.
