Don't like this at all!
Worst purchase ever! First off, this is not a loaf of bread, it is 5 slices of bread only. It has no flavor of sour dough. It tastes like the regular Schar bread except with no salt. The texture is also exactly like the regular Schar bread. The slices are slightly larger than the regular Schar bread but you are only getting half the ounces of the regular loaf of Schar bread at a higher price. Never again will I buy this. I feel like I was ripped off. The Sam's / Walmart gluten free white bread is far better than the Schar bread in both texture and taste but my local Walmart quit carrying it so I am stuck with Schar. Images are of sour dough package 8.5 oz. with only 5 slices of bread and regular Schar bread loaf is 14.1 oz. Next image is sour dough slice just slightly larger than regular slice of Schar white bread and same texture, which is nothing like sour dough.
I like this bread . It tastes like rye bread to me. Great for a Reuben or tuna, ham or patty melts et. I received this item with three out of five pieces torn in half There were crumbs inside the bag you could see before I opened it. When I I took it apart I saw two whole pieces. The end piece and the next. Maybe I could throw a hamburger on them or a small sandwich . All the larger pieces were ripped in half or slit diagonally in half. I'm sure Schar didn't bag the bread this way This brand is known for having one bottom corner broken off of one slice. Maybe the way they are packed in cases. I guess I'll have to use this for bread and butter.. glad I wasn't planning on making Ruben sandwiches. I reported it It said return to payment or get a free replacement .I chose a replacement You have to bring it to the store or fedex will pick it up. if you pack it and make a label. Here we go again bring it to the store This was just delivered from another store I don't know how many miles away it came by car. Fedex didn't deliver this . But Fedex could pick it up if you box it and label it! I have received loaves of bread from Fedex in the past and other perishables and gluten-free products direct from brand websites They don't come damaged from being twisted around in a bag so tight that they destroy the bread they're delivering to your home just don't do it.
litterally the only gluten free bread i eat. its ok plain, its great toasted and the texture is more similar to traditional bread. also it refridgerates quite well! the actual sourness is very low more smell then an actual taste. it being fermented dough helps make it easier to digest. hoghly reccomend tring!
Considering it's described as a loaf, I didn't bother to read the "servings" info. Long story short, there's only 5 slices. And they're not even big enough for adult sandwiches - kid size at best. And the topper is, with shipping, I paid $13 for it lol. Do yourself a favor and skip. I'm just gonna make croutons with mine.
this was the best gluten free bread I've ever tried. keep in freezer so it doesn't expire as quickly. can't even tell it's gluten free! it doesn't fall apart and is a larger slice than the tiny square slices you get from some other brands. highly recommend. affordable and was shipped to my home ready to be made into sandwiches. finally!
Delivery was fast , However the bread was not properly packaged as it was severely damaged since it was shipped in an envelope rather than a proper reinforced container to protect the soft bread from being crushed.
has a good flavor and texture but has a horrible beer smell. i eat sourdough all of the time and i have never had any that smells exactly of bush light before
I do like Schar GF Sourdough. It is my favorite sourdough gluten free brand. The texture and taste is very similar to regular sourdough bread. It does stay fresh about 4-5 days one opened.
