I like Ciabatta rolls because they have a texture that is less gooey feeling than other rolls or breads. The roll holds up well with sandwich spreads and toasts nicely, which I do for sandwiches and for toast. Especially nice for having a small French Dip! There isn't a salty taste, too.
These are my absolute favorite for a sandwich. The bread is soft, tastes great and doesn't crumble into pieces easily as a lot of gluten bread products do. I buy these weekly and just learned there are hot dog and hamburger buns by the same brand. I'll be trying those next.
I am gluten free, not by choice. I have difficulty with even gluten free products. This leaves my food selection very limited. The Schar brand has a couple of things that do not give me issues. and this is one of those. I am always grateful for new food choices and this adds many just by being bread.
I buy this for my sister who has celiac disease. She says that the GF breads are not generally very tasty. The texture is quite different. Once you open the bag, you have to use them right away or it compromises the flavor. This is one of the few brands that she likes and thinks it taste pretty good for GF. One day, when she was visiting, I decided to try something different. I cut a roll into 4 thin slices, toasted them in the air fryer and topped them with mayo and avocado. She loved it. I have also made croutons out of them. I cubed the bread, tossed them with olive oil, parsley, dehydrated minced garlic and rosemary (add any other seasonings you personally like) and I baked them in the air fryer. I keep them in a tupperware container in my pantry. They last quite a while on the shelf. They're great on salads! Yum
Absolutely the BEST GF bread product on the market. GF for 25 years and before finding these the only bread I would ever eat was an occasional piece of peanut butter toast in the morning (GF bread is horrible unless it is toasted). Since I found these I buy at least a pack a week and now can enjoy a sandwich for lunch or dinner…. I use them as burger buns (I just make my patties a bit smaller), spread garlic spread on them for garlic bread. I just LOVE these Cibatta Rolls.
Oh my gosh! I have Celiac disease and was diagnosed 15 years ago. These rolls are awesome! I cut one in half and put both pieces in a preheated oven to toast them, then add the sandwich meat and/or cheese. They are so good. Best gluten free rolls ever.
Substitute boring! Lightly toast Schär ciabatta for a soft middle that is the perfect creation foundation. Slice & think: open face caprese drizzled with a little olive oil, jalapeño jack cheese with shredded chicken and ranch dressing, or brisket in sauce. This isn't “just a roll” but a deceptive powerhouse that can take any breakfast, lunch, or dinner to another taste level.
I want gluten-free shoppers to know that the Schar Gluten Free Ciabatta Rolls are the best tasting gluten-free bread (in my opinion) that I have ever found and tasted, since 2003. They are expensive. Hopefully the price will be reduced, so that I can buy more. Just taken out of the package, the bread is not very good. They need to warmed in a toaster oven, or heated (cut in half first, if making a sandwich) in a microwave for about 15 seconds. Enjoy!
We have been buying this product for about 2 years and usually it's great. But recently we bought it, and within a week of opening the package, the 3 remaining rolls were moldy. The expiration date was not for more than 2 months, and we kept it in a sealed plastic bag after eating one roll. I'm not sure if their quality control has gone down, or it's just a random unexpected problem. We have never had them get moldy this fast before. I just hope it doesn't continue happening as there aren't many brands of gluten free rolls. I hope Schar will check their quality control if this is happening more often.
while the food had not yet expired, It did have a moldy smell and taste when I opened the airtight plastic package. it was pretty gross. I am still giving it some stars because Achar is usually a good product and I have gotten good Ciabatta in the past. So I got a moldy batch, this should never happen.
