Zararan's Crawfish, Shrimp, and Crab Boil Seasoning took my seafood to the next level! The blend has the perfect balance of spice, flavor, and aroma not too salty, not too overpowering, just right. It brought out the natural sweetness of the shrimp and crab while giving that bold, authentic Cajun kick I love. Everyone at our boil kept asking what seasoning I used! I also love that it dissolves easily and coats everything evenly. Highly recommend this to anyone who wants restaurant-quality flavor at home.
Zatarain's Crawfish, Shrimp, and Crab Boil brings a bold Louisiana flavor to any seafood feast. It is perfectly seasoned shellfish with just the right amount of spice and zest. It made the shrimp taste authentic and delicious. It's a must to have for seafood lovers.
I've tried a bunch of seafood boils, and Zatarain's is the one I keep coming back to. It's bold without being harsh, super consistent, and makes it easy to get that classic Gulf Coast flavor—fast. Compared to other brands I've used, it has cleaner spice balance (not overly salty), and the aroma actually sticks to the shrimp and potatoes instead of just perfuming the water. The biggest benefit is how foolproof it is: toss it in, simmer, and you're done. I'd definitely buy it again, and yes—I'd recommend it to friends who want a no-guesswork seafood boil that tastes like you did way more work than you did.
First of all thank you bzzagent and zatarains for the free crab boil bag for review. I've tried many imitations but none can match the original. Zatarains shrimp and crab boil just perfected the recipe for a legit boil and haven't messed with it since. Bravo.
We used the crab boil blend for our usual seafood boil. For our family, we needed a couple of packs, but for a few servings, the 3oz container works well. It was easy to use. It's nice to have everything in one bag instead of several small bags and an excess of directions.
It was a good product. I just wish that it was divided into 4 portions for example and salt was already included. It would be amazing to be able to add it to a pound or two of shrimp and voila. The amount they have is good for 4 lbs instead which makes it harder to know how much to add especially if you are making lobsters or crabs. All in all, it's a good to have zaatarins in your spice cabinet. Thanks for introducing me to this.
The seasoning bag was really easy to use! You just pop it into a pot with the seafood you want to use (we did shrimp) and bring it to a boil. The instructions suggest you let it sit for 15 minutes or so after boiling to get the best flavor and it was pretty good! I would use it again if I wanted an easy selection of herbs and spices to do with shrimp; I always fear over salting or under seasoning my seafood in a boil and this takes the guess work out of it. I did receive this as a free sample to try and review.
This was my first time ever making a shrimp boil. I looked for recipes to see what to add and how exactly to cook shrimp 😆 I mean, I LOVE shrimp but have never bought raw/frozen uncooked. The ingredients I used was a Cajun sausage, onions, full head of garlic, celery, lemons and the shrimp. I used frozen uncooked, peeled and deveined shrimp. While boiling the boil in bag seasoning I experienced some coughing and slight burning in my nose. I then added all but the shrimp until last couple minutes of cook time. The respiratory issues subsided thank goodness. While I like the convenience of the seasoning bag, the flavor was EXTREMELY lacking. I had more flavor from my butter sauce to dip the shrimp in. The bag seemed to be overly stuffed with mustard seeds and couldn't really find a flavor profile at all. I still ate it though 🤷🏼♀️. Since this was my 1st time doing this I'd skip this brand of bag seasoning and look into recipes that offer more flavor
There were three jars in the box I ordered one jar the lid was busted. The seal was busted, and there was crab powder all inside the box. It was a hot mess.
I received the Zatarains Crawfish, Shrimp and Crab Boil for free in exchange for my honest review. I was really looking forward to having a great seafood boil. I used it with shrimp and snow crab legs, plus added some corn on the cob and potatoes. The directions on the box recommended adding some cayenne pepper as needed so I actually added some other seasoning. I'm so glad I did. The only thing that the crab boil seasoning did was make the food kind of spicy. There wasn't an obvious taste other than heat. The other seasoning I used was the only flavor profile I was able to pick up once I added it. The idea of boiling the Zatarains seasoning in a bag is nice in theory but it just didn't deliver the taste I was expecting from a Zatarains product.
