Exactly what I expected. Great red color to the canvas and the frames are beautiful with the right amount of shine on the paint. I bought these chairs for awards and I embroidered the backs and they turned out fantastic!
I use the director chairs to facilitate workshops. I do demonstrations in front of the room with students. With the chairs we can sit in comfort and other students can see us easily. Up until now it's been difficult to find a durable, easy-to-assemble, portable chair. This one has it all. [...]
I purchased this chair for use in my makeup artist studio. I am pleased with the quality of this product. It is sturdy and was easy to put together. This chair does not have a footrest that folds up when you fold up the chair (the footrest is screwed into the legs), so it is best used as a permanent fixture, not one that will be used to go from location to location. I have a separate directors chair with a moveable footrest for that purpose, so please keep that in mind when making your purchase.
We use this product for filming purposes and events. This is where the speaker sits. Looks very nice and professional. This is the best deal I found on these chairs and I have been looking for a while. [...] The only con was it needed better assembly instructions for people like me ;) Great buy and I am so happy I found this site.
These chairs are exactly what I wanted with one major exception -- the color. I ordered red to go with a red, white, and blue color scheme but, disappointingly, the canvas that came is orange. At best, it is red-orange, which really clashes with my other reds. You need to know this before you order if the color matters to you. If I'd known, I'd have ordered the navy blue.
I teach weekends at two locations. Therefore, after being diagnosed with neuropathy in both legs, my choices for any high chair as an aid in my situation were to buy two (one for each location), or purchase one that we could break down and easily transport. This chair solved my problem. I install the foot board - using my trusty screwdriver and small wrench - when arriving at one location, and then break the chair down to transport to the next location laying nicely in the back seat of my Chevy Malibu. It meets my needs of availability and portability.
We own many directors chairs, upgraded two old ones with two of these. Quite solid and sturdy, we really like them except that the footrest must be removed with a screwdriver before it can fold (knew that, got it anyway). Only had one issue: One corner of one canvas seat was sewn wonky, it JAMMED bad in the chair slit upon installation. Huge efforts to unjam caused a rip-- no choice but to replace it. The rest were easy and only a few minutes to install them all, so one bad corner could be a rare thing. It's a good chair, a great deal, and only two out of the many we own that doesn't fold without hassle, I can live with that. I recommend this chair if you don't care about removing screws to fold it.
The product was handled when the stain/paint was still not dry causing some unnecessary defects in the paint. I had to retouch to eliminate. The installation of the foot rest to the chair took more time than it should have. It appeared that the screw and bolt holes were not properly aligned.
As the manager of a rental stage for film and video productions, we provide amenities for our clients, such directors chairs. The price for 30"" and 18"" chairs through Hayneedle seemed like the deal of the century; the specs fit our bill, so I ordered six standard and six tall chairs. Upon delivery of the chairs, I immediately tired to assemble a tall chair. I was a bit baffled by the footrest--it came separately, and it had a large screw and washer on one end and a drilled hole with an independent metal peg for the other end. The high directors chairs I have used in the past had footrests that were attached on one chair leg and swung free onto an affixed peg or ledge on the other leg. This way, the chairs can be quickly picked up, folded, and stored in an instant. After reading the simple directions, I realized the footrest had to be screwed on (no big deal), but I had to lay the chair on the floor and press my weight against it in order to made the hole and pin match up. Once the pin was in flush with the leg, it could not be removed, therefore preventing the chair from being folded. No storage capability. Fortunately, my handy stage manager had some pins with heads on one end. He drilled out the holes to accommodate the pins, then he attached them to the legs with nylon-coated wire to prevent them from getting lost and to easily pull the pins from the legs. Storage and portability is important, so I probably would not have purchased these had I been aware of the foot rest issue. Otherwise, they are attractive, fairly sturdy, and they are comfortable. The 18"" chair are great--they are solid and comfortable, plus the price is right.
This product was totally fine but it wasn't shipped out when the website said it would be so we received this very late. We were supposed to receive this on 3/9 as i received a notice that it was shipped out on the 8th but we did not receive it until 3/12 as it was actually shipped out on the 11th. Not sure what happened with the Hayneedle warehouse or whoever was in charge of shipping these. We needed to get this product in time for an event on the 13th as we were supposed to brand the back of the chair but because we received it so late, we weren't able to brand it. I would order this product again but Iwouldn't trust the shipping on this website.
