Perfect

mycatJewels June 19, 2014

My cat totally wore out his first 20 inch scratcher so when I seen this one was a little taller, I thought it would work better for a full-grown cat. We had bought new furniture and was hoping he'd use the post instead of the furniture--and he does. It's heavy enough that it doesn't tip over when he's using it and it looks very nice next to my furniture.

Nice and tall so cat can stretch

ckpa March 17, 2014

Just picked up a few days ago and so far I am liking the product. The post was one piece out of the box so it was put out right away. Within a day , my cats were making use of it. They are able to stand up and stretch while giving a good scratch. If anything I could say negative, it is a little lightweight and during a good scratch my cats do move it around. ( This may be a simple fix by placing a non-slip material underneath. )

My cat loves it!

Robin4061 August 7, 2014

This cat Scratching Post is great! It is sturdy and well-made. It is a nice size. Our old one was shorter, and the cat seems to like the taller one better. It has two different scratching surfaces on it - carpet, and rope, which cats seem to love. The website shows a blue scratching post, but mine is brown. This did not matter to me, though. If you go to a pet store, you will pay $40 or $50 for a similar scratching post, so at $20 this was a great bargain!

Great Sturdy Post

Cathyplaysbass December 2, 2012

This is the second post of this kind I've bought as I know it's a good, sturdy one. My last one lasted about 3-4 years and the cats love it. They can stretch nice and tall, and it never falls over. The sisal rope wears out in time, but of course that's normal with the constant scratching. Great post for the price.

Perfect Scratching Post

Marabelle July 5, 2016

I just purchased my second post. I've had cats for many years, and this is the best one I have found so far. Besides the price being so reasonable, its height and combo sisal/carpet make this post very appealing. I just adopted a new cat, who spent much of her time as a stray. She loved to scratch my furniture, my draperies, just about anything, before I could get this post - I ordered online and picked it up in the store (free shipping.) The first day I placed it in my home, she found it and immediately began to use it. I've purchased my second one for a different part of the house. She uses both frequently.

Great scratch post for older cats

Starr0722 October 4, 2014

This was an awesome buy for our cats Kiara and Bohdi. They just couldn't wait for us to get it out of the box. Thank You Walmart for making our cats happier. Sandra

Cat Scratch Post

Anonymous November 10, 2010

The cats love it, especially since I hung catnip sprigs from the top of the pole. They lay on the base and like to stretch to the top of the post, and scratch.

Cat scratched it right away.

Vermonter2013 January 14, 2013

Cat scratched the bottom right away--still hasn't attempted the top. I rated the value as fair because I just don't think anything of this material should be so expensive, however, it does do its job.

Very tall

DoingShopsOnline August 17, 2014

The plastic top doesn't bother me (or my cat, it seems). It is very tall for a cat scratch post. Have only had it for a week but looks sturdy enough. I think a wider base (if the price can be kept the same) would make this product just purrrrfect

Low quality construction

cuulblu April 5, 2013

I bought this to replace an existing scratching post. The previous post was made from a wooden base and a 4" x 4" post (two 2 x 4's nailed together). My cat eventually ripped the sisal rope in two. The new post is made from cardboard tubing with plastic caps in the ends. My cat puts a lot of force into his scratching. I felt he would break the post off fairly quickly. The rope doesn't go up high enough. The part of the post he likes to grab into is covered by the carpet. This post didn't seem to interest him since the rope didn't go high enough. I returned the post because it seemed weak. This post might be ok for kittens and small cats or cats that are less forceful than mine when scratching.
