I was extremely skeptical after having multiple thumb related issues with the last OPI LED Lamp (they were not curing). But this lamp has definitely improved! My clients love how roomy it is inside, the handle is GREAT for moving and handling purposes, it looks very professional and clean and there is ample room for clients to rest on top as I polish. The key to curing those thumbs is to have clients place them on the white "ramp like" object inside so that the thumbs receive direct light. As far as the auto settings, I haven't had an issue but I only plan on using the manual setting due to clients going back in for unnecessary (over) curing. Overall I am VERY pleased as I do not like to cross mix products. Thank you OPI for the upgrade!
I bought this light even after reading all of the negative reviews. Why? Well, you can't cure Prohealth properly without this light. Gels are very sophiscated and they need the proper light from the manufacturer. I wanted to test if the negative reviews are true. They are. The thumb WILL NOT CURE PROPERLY. Despite this, you cannot use another lamp until OPI engineers another lamp. I truly hope OPI is working on a new light. I absolutely love the design of lamp. It looks very professional and very cute.
I am an owner of a nail salon and I currently own 5 Dual Cure Led Light machine. Prices are decent. I know you have tried to improve the efficiency of the curing, but when used it we still have it still didn't cure the sides of the thumbs. The LED lights are not low enough to cure the edges of the pinky and thumbs, especially when the thumbs don't sit flat on top of the platform. The sides and corners of the thumb don't cure well and doesn't last very long and chips quicker. We have not had this problem with the previous OPI LED Light machines. Hopefully in the future the LED machines will include lights low enough to cure the sides and corners of the thumbs and pinkies. My suggestion is to add Led lights on each side of the platforms for the thumbs/pinkies.
A gel machine shouldn't be this difficult to use, not only for nail techs but for our clients too! I prefer the gelish machine, SIMPLE AND EASY TO USE! Almost everyone who reviewed this product huas had the same complaint, auto setting SUCKS, and clients are always confused about where to place their fingers. Whenever doing a gel manicure i always reach for the gelish machines, the old OPI machines were a lot better. The only good thing i can say about this machine is that the manicure comes out very shiny and pretty. I hope the OPI team fixes these problems considering how expensive their machines are. Don't waste your money on this product
It does not cure well even with the opi gel polish
We are having problems with the thumbs not curing. We have explained to every client that it is slightly different, taken the hand plate out and shown them the correct way of placing there hand and specifically the thumb as that is the main difference. The problem is there are no lights running down the sides like the previous machine and as most peoples thumbs don't turn up when their hand is flat the thumbs aren't curing on half of our clients, resulting in us having to remove the bottom and doing thumbs separately which seems to be the only way to solve this. We have tried everything that you recommend and it simply doesn't work.
I brought this light when first came out being new to nails and doing my gel polish with opi I was thinking this was best around! Well I've had nothing but problems I even sent light back regarding senser light it still doesn't work so I don't actually know what they even done to solve problem. The thumbs never cure this is possible worst lamp I've brought! I really wouldn't waste your money.
I've been doing gel polish for 8 years now and I have never come across a lamp that has been designed so badly. 100% design flaw in the fact the led lights do not reach the underside of the thumbs. I tried multiple ways of placing clients hands into the lamp and also set the timer for 60 seconds at a time - this did not fix the issue. Incredibly embarrassing considering I am so confident in my work. 2017 model was so much better and I am upset to find I cannot buy a brand new one as I cannot find them anywhere online. Currently trying to find another brand of lamp to use as I've had the 2017 model for 18 months now.
The thumbs don't dry . the sensor sucks . customers mess up the nail all the time by the thumps get into the bumps inside.
The thumbs don't dry and yes I have read the owners manual multiple times so please don't auto respond with the usual spiel.
