I was very pleased with this purchase! The carrots were delicious, I added one cup of them to some soup I had made. The carrots were cut well (in water), not mushy, easy to open and drain to add to my soup for added veggies! Tasty! Will purchase again! Perfect size for what I needed!
One of the package of carrots I received was obviously damaged. The outside of the package looked well worn and old, and one of the containers of carrots, no longer had fluid in it and the carrots within it were moldy, so whoever pulls the order from the shelf should never have put it in the bag for me to pay for, then pickup and then have to come back to the store and return it because it was obviously a defective product and should not have been presented to any customer!
Use as a side dish to add more flavor and vegetable share of meal. Eat a lot of microwave dinners low on veggies, and this corrects. Favorite is Healthy Choice Simply Steamer Sweet and Sour Chicken with this added in.
This is perfect for when I make soup, roast etc. My hands don't always cooperate when cutting, dicing, etc. vegetables. So, I look for easy solutions and this one of them that works for me.
These 4 oz. individual cups of cooked diced carrots are great for a senior citizen to keep in stock to have cooked carrots whenever a recipe requires them, like Rice Pilaf, or to put into a homemade soup for one person. You can make a single serving taste better by adding a pat of butter to them once heated through, or pour off the water and heat them in gingerale. I like to keep 4 oz. individual cups of cooked vegetables in colors of red, orange, yellow, and green to add to my Brown Rice Pilaf to which I add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric to the cooking water to turn the rice a beautiful lemon color. It makes a very colorful side dish for any meal. We eat with our eyes first. Wish these were sold online, as I prepare all meals at home and don't get out much to go shopping.
While this is more pricey than buying carrots, no peeling or cutting needed. The extra cost is worth eliminating the hassle of preparation. Just open, and add to a recipe. Quality is excellent. Use this in pea soup, stew, and in broth soups to add something for chewy texture. The cup is right-sized for portion control.
These hold up better in taste and texture for quick pot pies than frozen or can carrots. Excellent quality.
Pros: -The shelf life seems to be good and stay fresh for a long period of time in the pantry / lazy Susan (unopened). -I appreciate them being in plastic cups (that seem durable in my experience) instead of a glass jar, since I have two toddlers…glass would be problematic to say the least. -they make cooking a breeze when I want to make my chicken pot pie and feel lazy..or any recipe that requires carrots. -They taste good. Con: The price is wild for the amount. They should be at least a dollar less. These are definitely something I only purchase on special occasions. Overall : I do recommend.
Received a damaged item.
The review is not for the carrots. The review is for not getting my two boxes of 3 Dog Bakery cookies and I tried to do a “refund” on line and it would only do an in store refund.
