Apparently I've had expensive taste in canned soup since I was a kid! My mamma always kept a case of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup in the pantry because I'd go through one of my "moods" where it was the only thing I wanted to eat. Decades later, not much has changed. Every now and then I still get a craving, and nothing else quite hits the spot. I've tried other brands over the years—both name brands and generics—but I always find myself coming back to Campbell's. The broth has that familiar flavor I remember, the noodles have a nice texture, and it's simply comforting in a way that's hard to explain unless you've grown up with it. Some foods fill your stomach. Others remind you of home. For me, this soup has always managed to do both.
Great "I am too tired to cook" standby. Heat the soup or not. Reviews state recipe change. I don't taste it. I know it's condensed but I usually do not dilute. Occasionally add croutons, cheese, always fresh ground black pepper. If you feel ambitious, grilled cheese sandwich. Yum Yum good.
Classic comfort. Simple, warm, and exactly what you expect. It is not fancy, but it always hits the spot when you are not feeling great or just want something easy. The broth is light, the noodles are soft, and it is one of those things that feels a little nostalgic. Definitely a little on the salty side, but that is kind of part of it. Good to keep stocked for sick days or quick meals.
I've eaten this now and then for 60 years, and it's pretty good (especially with Ritz crackers). The noodles have always been a little mushy, which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I make it with 1/2 to 2/3 can of water so that the broth is richer. The price is reasonable, so I always have a can or two on hand for when I want a quick meal without any effort.
It's a shame that consistently we receive damaged canned goods. I have seen the shoppers throwing things into the large shopping bin they roll around for online orders and it's shameful. Food is expensive and it seems that Walmart would enforce careful handling of goods that customers are purchasing.
I get too many bent cans. Have commented on it before and requested “no bent cans”. This time was hard to believe that the person doing the shopping did not see this and I don't know what to do with this 1.50 can of soup. Amount doesn't seem like much, but soon adds up.
The delivered Campbell soup can is heavily dented on both sides. Not sure if it is still suitable for eating because it is unclear about the cause to the denting. The other brand chicken noodle soup cans inside the same delivery box are OK, no dent. Hope to seek for a re-sending of the Campbell soup with a good can or refunding. Also, there is some unknown green powder inside one of the delivery boxes (see photo). I have not ordered anything like the green package left over inside the box. Hope Walmart can check and find out to avoid future similar situation. Thanks for the attention!
cans missing portions of labels torn off. Also waited 30 minutes for order while people arriving after me got orders before I did. Don't understand that since I do the check in feature. website having technicsl difficulties trying to get refund for damaged cans of soup.
This was poorly packed for shipping. I ordered 2 trays of chicken soup at sale price only available online. when it arrived half of the cans were dented some started to leak. The box the trays were placed in was too big and the trays slid around during shipping. I wasted money trying to get a deal. Very disappointed. Please teach your packers to consider what theyre sending thru shipping. Those boxes go thru alot and its the shippers responsibility to make sure the items are packed properly.
the noodle come looking defected in different shapes, like the ones that got thrown away ended up in the heart healthy batch. not the whole can of noodles. but each can i have opened had some noodles that look like they were accidentally added. the regular chicken noodles are so much better shaped. oh yea the cut up chunks of so called chicken. dont look nothing like chicken. i pick those out along with the defected noodles.
