(4 pack) Great Value Buttery Complete Potatoes, 4 oz, Pouch

i was shocked to say the least. i expexted a whole lot less flavor and unacceptable texture. But to my surprise , the flavor was quite good..and while the texture/ body weren't quite the same as homemade; i dont think most people would be able to tell thar these are instant. Then i wonder if you substituted part of the required liquid ( water) with milk, would it make the finished product even better? Also would adding that milk, would it change the texture? No matter, because these are sooo inexpensive one can afford to experiment. i havent tried any so called brand name instant because my last run in with instant ( about 5 decades ago) was yucky. And back then there was NO MISTAKING instant mashed potatoes for real ones. These are really good.

I have sampled many flavors of instant potatoes...I don't know what manufacturer makes Great Value Buttery Flavor Instant Potatoes but Walmart should keep them as a supplier because they make the best tasting version of instant potatoes I've ever sampled.

Out of all the instant potatoes on the market, all the brands, all the flavkrs, this is our favorite one. It is smooth and creamy. The butter flavor is just right. It is not overpowering or too faint. All you have to do is add seasoning. Dont have to add butter.

Started using this when I was recovering from injury and unable to cook everything from scratch. It was so easy to prepare. It was delicious and comforting. Now I keep it on hand as a treat when I feel lazy and want my comfort food. Great with grated cheese topping or gravy.

For someone that doesn't like paper tators as I call them. 😃 These are pretty darn good. I had to add extra water. So they weren't so thick. But after that and added some more butter. They were gone down the hatch. Only southerners will know this talk 😂😂

I like the easy prep , you just add boiling water to the packet ( in a serving bowl) and stir. There is no reason to and spices or seasoning because it's already in the packet. I ate this today with some chicken fingers an and thoroughly enjoyed them. Plus the he come in several different flavors and they al stand up to the taste test that it tastes just like the packet says it's going to taste

First time I tried this, it came out good... I mixed 1 ounce potato flakes with 120 grams ( 1/2 cup ) of water that was heated in microwave 60 seconds. Added another 30 seconds microwave after mixing. Adjust the texture by the water content, start maybe with 100 grams and add more to thin out the texture, as desired. I added more butter but I could taste it ( a little ) in the mix. Pretty foolproof, hard to screw this up... came out almost as good as restaurant potatoes.

These potatoes are wonderful because you don't need butter and milk to prepare them, so kids can't even teens can prepare them when their parents aren't home. I buy these for the food banks because they are a great price and can feed your whole family … great product! I would love to see more complete products like this that we can give to families in poverty to feed their whole family. They are also great for busy families who don't have time to cook a whole meal.

The product is good so 5 stars for min. Fast mash potatoes . I gave 4 stars because I ordered 2 and only received 1 so not happy about that. Usually you get a text or email telling you that you can only get one or pick a substitute, but not this time.

If you can get past the smell then maybe they'll be edible to you. The smell is AWFUL! I don't understand all the 4 %26 5 star reviews. I didn't want to taste them after smelling them while they "cooked", but I did %26 that was a poor decision. Absolutely disgusting! I've made homemade mashed potatoes for many years %26 it's what we prefer. I've been eating the Idaho brand of instant mashed potatoes often lately due to some physical limitations due to a health issue when there's no leftovers %26 I'm alone. I'd rather have real ones of course but they're not bad for a quick meal. Some are a little saltier or a little blander than others...but they're pretty good. I make them with milk or evaporated milk usually %26 sometimes add butter, garlic, sour cream, cheese, etc... Even the ones that have extra protein added to them are pretty good. I've had a couple other brands once in a while in the past too %26 not one of them had any kind of gagging smell like these do! I'd love to know what ingredient(s) are the cause of the rank scent! I don't like to throw food away but even after adding butter, cheese, %26 some seasonings they were still SO nasty! Don't try to save a small amount of change if you're going to buy instant mashed potatoes. Trust me, it is NOT worth it! I threw out the portion I made %26 got on the app %26 started a return for these. They just gave my money back to me...I didn't have to return them to the store. I have the 4 cheese flavor of this brand still %26 I'm not even going to try them. They'll be returned. Anything that smells this gross isn't going to taste good. I've had many Great Value brand food items in the past %26 I've never been so repulsed. I'd be embarassed if I sold a food product that smelled %26 tasted this bad.
