I buy the 26 oz container to use in my garden. I sprinkle it around some of my plants that the rabbits like when they are just starting to grow. Works for me. The garlic scent even gets stronger after a rain. I do reapply every so often till the plants get to big to be chewed on. Mostly use it around my Sunflowers
We are a garlicky family. Although there are some dishes that benefit from fresh garlic, I prefer the granulated form for gravies and sauces, as it has a mild thickening effect. It's also great in the rice cooker. We go through one of these large containers about every three months. It's an essential!
I needed a large jar of granulated garlic because I go through it pretty fast—I cook dinner almost every night and put garlic on everything from roasted veggies to chicken rubs. The 26 oz size made sense for the price, and I figured I wouldn't have to restock for months. The first thing I noticed is that the granules are finer than some other brands I've used. That's not bad—it actually sticks to meat better when I'm making a dry rub. The flavor is solid. It's not the most pungent granulated garlic I've had, but it's reliable. One teaspoon gives a nice background note; two teaspoons makes it actually taste like garlic without being harsh. Here's my one complaint. The container doesn't have a shaker top, just the wide open mouth. I have to pour carefully or use a spoon every time, which slows me down when I'm in the middle of cooking. I ended up transferring half into an old spice jar with a shaker lid. I also wonder how long this will stay fresh. 26 ounces is a lot, and granulated garlic can lose its punch after a few months. I'm hoping the seal on this jug keeps it potent for at least six months. For now, it's doing the job fine. If you cook for a crowd or meal prep, this is a good deal. Just have a smaller shaker bottle ready. Great garlic, clumsy container
This is the 1st time I had ever used this product, I got tired of buying other products that when you used them you couldn't smell nor taste the garlic. I decided to try this out on some the chicken I had purchased, not only could I smell the garlic aroma but I could taste it! I was so happy I just love it. One more thing that made me happy there isn't anything but just garlic, you don't hear much about that anymore.
I don't like powdered garlic. It's too finicky to work with. This granulated garlic is easy to work with. It shakes out of the jar well, no gluts or sudden rushes of spice. The cap also opens for the measuring spoon ~ nice! The flavor is as good as any granulated garlic I've ever used. I bet you like it.
Great Value Granulated Garlic is an absolute essential in my kitchen. As my primary go-to spice for daily cooking, it adds a rich, savory flavor to everything from roasted vegetables to meat dishes without any hassle. The taste is remarkably close to fresh garlic, giving meals a robust depth and wonderful aroma. Beyond the solid flavor, the value for money is unbeatable. You get a generous amount for a fraction of the cost of name brands, making it easy to keep the pantry stocked. For reliable quality, fantastic flavor, and budget-friendly everyday cooking, it easily earns a permanent spot on my counter.
Can't cook without this garlic and I've never had stomach problems. My dad used to say a little garlic will kill whatever ails you! I'm 84 and I think he may have been right.
Not as good as powder. Was hoping to add a smooth tasting garlic to replace sodium. Has browned pieces that makes the food taste funny. Don't care for it.
I was very disappointed in my purchase because it was packed with a cleaning product that tainted the taste of my candy the garlic powder was busted and delivered in a grocery store plastic bag This makes me wonder if the staff is getting training on packaging and shipping products particularly food products that are going to be consumed
Lately, many of the Great Value spices have had opened fresh seals that I've bought. Those seals aren't just to keep things fresh, but to keep customers safe. Please do a better job Great Value with this issue.
