Like the way that it didn't absorb so much water when cooked. It held together well and tasted great in my spaghetti. I even froze the left overs and reheated them in the microwave and they still tasted great just like they had been just cooked. It's a great product you keep on hand for a quick meal.
Great Value Linguine works surprisingly well beyond the usual pasta dishes. The texture holds up beautifully, even when used in non‑traditional recipes. I’ve been using it in an “American Ramen” bowl, and it’s become one of my favorite quick meals. The noodles stay firm, don’t get mushy, and soak up flavor better than I expected from a budget brand. It pairs especially well with sautéed veggies—broccoli, peppers, onions, whatever you have on hand—and a spoon or two of Mae Ploy sweet chili sauce. The sauce clings to the linguine in a way that gives every bite a sweet‑savory kick, and the noodles don’t clump together, even after mixing everything in the pan.
Great Value linguine is the only linguine that I buy. It’s hard to beat the value for the price, especially since it performs just as well as many higher priced name brands. I recently used it for a linguine and clam sauce dish, and the long, flat noodles were ideal for soaking up all that garlicky goodness. This pasta is my go to choice for quick, delicious, and budget friendly Italian meals
Great Value is the name brand and it actually is a great value. This pasta cooks perfectly with the right texture, taste and it goes great with tomatoes sauce and meatballs, vegetables, as a main dish or side dish and more. I think this is a terrific quality pasta for the price and it is the only pasta we purchase. It is a staple in our kitchen and should be yours too. It gets and deserves 5 stars from us.
This is linguini pasta. It is similar to spaghetti but it’s not spaghetti. Boil it, strain in, and add some type of sauce. I use clam sauce because it tastes the best. Sometimes, I add an extra can of clams when I’m feeling frisky. LOL. It’s really good and pretty cheap considering you can make it two or three meals depending on your hunger level. I will buy it again when I’m out. Thank you.
Great product and priced well. Prefer over spaghetti noodles because it seems that sauce sticks to these better because of the wider noodles.
Somewhere along the way, I learned to boil pasta. I've tried generic and top-shelf brands as the years rolled by. Great Value linguine pasta has 2 valuable points over all the others: it's a generic brand, so don't expect much texture or flavor. It is, however, one of the easiest pastas to prepare. You do have to stir it often in the first few minutes of tossing it in the water. It's an 11-12 minute cook time for NON al-dente pasta. Now, most name brands of fettuccini or linguini need constant stirring, and even then, some of it still comes out in tight clumps of five or six noodles, which are very difficult to separate, and very alarming to bite into. (gag-reflex). As far as I'm concerned, it's all in the sauce, baby! Arrividerci.
Don’t trust the time to cook on the package. They over cook before the lowest recommended (11-13 minutes). If you aren’t going to shock them with really cold water go even lower they will keep cooking. I truly have never had a pasta I couldn’t cook properly other than this one.
some of this pasta i purchased had weevil inside. I recognize that the presence of such bugs in a wheat product is not a risk that can be completely eliminated, and is not going to cause illness, however opening an unexpired package of pasta only to find tonsnof little weevils is very off-putting. I would have simply let the company know and report the issue directly to them, however the information on the package to report issues led me in circles and my option is pretty much to take it into the store. you can understand that with young children taking something to the customer service counter is far more stressful than the $0.98 is worth.
These specific noodles do not cook all the way through I’ve tried them in several different temperatures but they never cook properly in the middle, even if you over cook them. They’ll be extremely soggy on the outer edges but still not cooked in the middle! Disgusting and disappointing do not buy this brand for this type of pasta.
