I consider canned soup like emergency food since I'd rather make my own from scratch but...this soup may be an exception. I add a little chicken bouillon and fresh parsley to top it off and the flavor is (like homemade) satisfying. The wild rice makes it more interesting than egg noodles and it's all organic and clean tasting. A great staple for the pantry!
*The carrots are in large coins, so if you have any carrot-averse folks in your house, this may be a no-go soup for you.* The chicken had a pleasant texture, which a lot of soups I've been trying recently have struggled with-it wasn't dry or chewy at all. I would say make sure you heat this up enough because if you don't, the wild rice will still have a bit of a crunch to it (mistake I made, but then I put it back on the heat). Once it is heated enough, the rice is soft. I did add salt and a bit of feta cheese to mine to jazz it up because it was a bit bland without it, but I understand keeping it bland for the low sodium crowd. My last note is that I was appreciative of the rice and chicken combo because almost every canned chicken soup has noodles/dough in it, so this was a great change of pace! I was able to eat it without feeling heavy afterwards, yet still full because of the rice.
Great flavor and it's organic. Wish the Organic Lentil soup would return. Not sure why it is no longer available. All the Great Value Organic soups are delicious and good for you.
I had been buying Organic chicken and rice soup made by another brand and paying about 30% more. I never noticed the Great Value brand because it was in a four pack. So glad I found these online.
Everything you might want from can soup. At times this item is often not on the shelf. I figure that I am not alone in really liking this item.
First time trying a Great Value organic soup as I just discovered them when stocking up my pantry. Delicious~! Nice balance of wild rice and stock, but could use a bit more chicken. Luckily, I had some on hand, so added it along with some thyme and rosemary, which made it taste great!
This wasn't a good representation of Walmart...cans 3/4 full %26 not even a 1/4 portion of chicken. This isn't the Great Value I'm accustomed to. To be honest it wasn't even a 'fair' value
I bought this soup because it is organic but was very disappointed in the product. The taste of 'aluminum can' was overwhelming the soup totally for me. I've enjoyed many canned soup products but this one was below the standard of any other I've had in that it constantly reminded me that I was consuming a canned product by the unmistaken aluminum can taste. Very potent!
I had asked for a plant-based item. Soup and I got this as a substitute. Why would I get a naughten plain based souve when I asked for a plan based soup very dissatisfied. And yes, there was supposed to be no substitution, but it was substituted anyway
I was so hoping that this soup would be good but it was a complete letdown. Way too much liquid, I had to drain it. Too much rice and the chicken was somewhat tuff. Live and learn, I'll stick with brands I know are good.
