I use dates in my green smoothies to give some sweetness to the spinach or broccoli or even carrots or cucumbers. I found out that you can freeze these dates to keep for months, and so I bought several bags. The taste is what I have expected from dates. Sweet and syrupy with the usual date flavors. This is an excellent product and I would buy it again.

GV Pitted Deglet Noor dried Dates are a tasty natural fruit snack. They could be used in many recipes but enjoyed right out of the bag. The taste is very sweet and chewy and this kind is more of a whole size instead of chopped. Dates could be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch or a healthy snack when used in the serving size or even better 1/2 the serving size! Even goes good with a cup of coffee!

I really like these dates! They have a delicious sweetness and a soft, pleasant texture. The packaging is also nice and keeps the product fresh. I've tried ordering this item several times before, but unfortunately it was often unavailable. This time I finally received it, and I'm very happy with the quality. I just hope Walmart can keep this product in stock more consistently, as it's definitely worth buying. Overall, a great product—just needs better availability.

basically just didn't taste like I was expecting them today. I expect them to be sticky and soft and they were not sticky and kind of hard and not that flavorful but I think there's probably a different kind of data should have bought but I don't know I didn't see any other choices so okay

The dates have variable quality. Sometimes when I get them, they're softer and squishier (which is what I prefer). Other times, they're harder and drier. More often then not, they are on the drier side. However, they still taste good either way. They are sweet dates that can be eaten as a snack or used in recipes. I almost always soak them before cooking with them, since they're not soft enough to blend very well right out of the bag. While the quality is variable, they are a good price. They are by no means not the best dates I've had before, but dates can get expensive, and these dates are one of the better deals out there. It just depends on if you want fresh dates that cost a little more, or if you want to buy these dried dates and save a little money.

I wasn't sure how the Great Value Dates would taste, but they were very good. Not sure why they're so expensive. You can get double the amount in most produce departments (not Walmart) for about the same price. Out of 11 dates, 3 have had pits. Be careful! I wouldn't consider them to be “pitted,” as the package states.

Help! Shocked and disappointed. Something has changed here. The naturally small Pitted Deglet Noor dates used to be PITTED and in good condition. These were full of pits and desiccated (dried out to a parchment or mummified consistency.) Inedible. Walmart must insist on actual QC for these Great Value items. This is the second batch in two months that are absolute failures and dangerous for those needing pitted dates.

These do not compare with name brand dates. They are of different sizes, some are very small, so not good for stuffing. Thay are also harder, so not good for snacking. Don't think they would be good to put in cookies or breads because of there hardness. Don't have much taste either.

TOTAL WASTE OF TIME %26 MONEY! Needed to make long standing Holiday fruitcake. Opted for this “pitted” version to save time %26 ENERGY(getting old) but insides were WHITE-FIBROUS %26 STRINGY !!! Only able to use 6(SIX) pieces!!! Unable to provide requested photo as they're IN TRASH!
