I give this cornmeal 150%. I wish it came in 5lb bag. I could eat it all the time. I have tried lots of cormeal. I come from Virginia where all we have is the self rising cornmeal and flour. I rate this the best cornmeal in the land. Nothing like baking hot cast iron skill fill of cornbread and cutting it and putting in glass and pouring ice cold milk over it. Yummy Yummy. I always put crisco on the pan cold and then take little flour coating it thoroghly if any of the black of the skillet is present I dab little more crisco on it and little more flour. Mixing this like a cake batter thiness. Then pour it on the skillet and bake as directed, cut and eat in glass of cold milk.

this is the best cornbread mix I've ever tried. Its not sweet so it is perfect for soups and stews. I dont like sweet cornbread for my red beans or soups so this delicious. It makes a big thick pan in my cast iron skillet.

This is an awesome cornbread mix. Rises high stays soft and moist. The taste is unbelievably delicious. I have tried several mixes; jiff was always my go too but now this is my new go too!!! You don't need a cast iron skillet to make this.

This is the first cornbread box mix that I find is true Southern taste. Believe me, I have tried most all of them. True Southern cornbread is NOT sweet. This mix reminds me of the cornbread my Mom always made...True Virginia downhome taste !!!! In my future, I will always use this LODGE mix.

I thought i was buying cornmeal to make cornbread - what a delicious mistake! It was light, not dense like regular cornmeal. With a little honey on top, it was dessert! Easy to make half for an 8 inch iron skillet.

Do NOT buy this people. Just grab a bag of self-rising cornmeal because that is all you are getting in this box. What you have to add to this is exactly what you need to make it from scratch. The only difference is you can make multiple batches out of a bag of self-rising cornmeal and you can only make one from this. if you do not believe me, then just take a look at the picture I took and compare it to a homemade cornbread recipe
