McCormick has consistently high quality in their spices. I use their chili powder in my cooking to flavor and color sauces and soups. This small jar is enough for my chili needs, but the flavor is growing on me. It always seems fresh and beautifully red.
Great perfect for Chili con carne. You can mix into your scrambled eggs as you whip them before you put them into cook. 1/2 tsp for 2 whipped eggs. I use this and their Italian seasoning for so many things. I urge you to try it
I use McCormick chili powder to make vegetarian chili beans and my family loves it. I also use it to make Mexican style lentils soup and it's my favorite healthy soup that I make at least once per week.
I do a lot of Mexican cooking and I like to experiment with a lot of different spices and ingredients and this was a top rating for me on this particular spice. I love McCormick.
Now come in bottle with the name of the spice right on the top. No more rummaging and lifting 10 bottles to read the name before finding the one you want. Love it!
This is an absolute staple in my home. I use this brand chili powder for all of my Mexican inspired meals. Ever since I stopped buying store packets of taco seasoning, chili powder is my base for my homemade version. So delicious and packed with flavor.
Took one star off because of the salt in it. I really wish they would leave it out. I prefer to use a higher quality salt (and less of it) than what they use. It's just too salty. That aside, it's really handy to have and the flavor is really good, despite the saltiness.
The taste was adequate, nothing spectacular. If i had it my way , i would only buy this ingredient from TJ maxx
Why is McCormick cheapening the product by adding salt? When I want to add salt, I'll do it myself. Might as well buy the generic brand. The taste isn't very strong anyways. Not impressed.
Husband picked up and this was substituted for organic chili powder. I live 50 minutes away. He wasn't told about substitution…. Now I have to remember to haul it back. Stand in line to get money back. I do not cook with this!
