These are my most favorite refried beans! I've been buying them for over 20 years because they're the best! I used to be concerned about the animal fat, so I tried the vegetarian version. They just didn't taste as good, so I kept buying these. They are now saying, animal fat is the best fat we can eat and that we don't eat near enough of it. So now, I don't have to be concerned about eating these anymore. They taste the best and they're healthier too! I also really like that there aren't any weird chemicals, just real food ingredients.
normally I prefer the refried beans that are like in a pouch the one I'm not able to get to the store to get those and I just need a delivery I get the canned ones delivered, I've tried all the brands and I think these ones are actually my favorites I smash them down with potatoes measure and add some butter and sour cream and make them very creamy just like a Mexican restaurant and they taste really good I think out of all of them being the store brands and the other big brands this one is probably my favorite the best texture and consistency
I like this brand of refried beans. I'm having it with some chili and taco meat and whatever else needs a little kick to take it to the next level. We Enjoy El Paso food products including their taco kits and everything else they make. It's the only brand that I buy when we have taco night. And you should too.
This is the best brand of refried beans out there and it's really good with other similar Old El Paso products like the rice dishes which makes a quick, simple, %26 easy meal.
I make Tacos and Beef Tostadas with this. You can't beat this product. It adds to both the flavor of your Tacos and Tostadas, and it stretches your Goodness, further than if you had just used nothing but beef. Also, you can make great Refried Beans and Cheese Burritos or Tostadas with these. It's super easy. It's about 10 minutes of Prep, tops. Walmart has all of the ingredients, right there at the store. You won't find cheaper meals than Mexican Food. Their food provides high Protein and a good level of Carbs. If you wanna get lean, look into the Mexican Diet, and work out. It's not hard. The Mexican way of Food Prep is very sensible. It's all about really easy meals, with a decent amount of Nutrients. Check it out!!!
I really like the quality and flavor of Old El Paso it's a name I can trust. It's consistent every can is just like every other can I know exactly what I'm going to find when I open the lid. Even cold the beans smell good, they cook up fast and easily. They're creamy but still have whole beans mixed in. I buy taco seasoning in a sprinkle can and I always add some seasoning to them. I think they have great flavor without the seasoning but I like to boost the flavor. I make so many things with this, Mexican casseroles. Mexican omelettes, nachos, I like to make a bean and hamburger dip for my chips and I put these in my home made quesadeas which are a great snack or a really fast tasty meal because these beans can be filling. I love that they're a great source for protein and they have a good amount of fiber and fibers is so good for us. I don't have a problem with these beans talking back to me if you get my drift.
This like a lot of other things, don't need as much salt as they put in it. 450mg in a 1/2 cup serving is just outrageous.
In my opinion, these are better than most of the other brands out there. But let's face it, canned refried beans are not the best so they need things added to help them taste better. Personally, I add a splash of milk and some jalapenos to make this palatable. Mostly I wish I weren't so lazy and just made beans in my instant pot because they taste better.
In Colorado, due to the elevation, it can be difficult to cook certain foods. So I have chosen to buy this instead of trying to make them. They serve the purpose and are convenient. However, they have a certain "second taste", maybe an attempt at making them taste smoky, but it is off-putting. I am used to homemade pinto beans and refried beans.
It's just ok, it has a nice taste and texture is probably better than most. I usually flavor it up quite a bit, if you don't it's just bland. The quality is good, I like that you can get every bit out of the can pretty easily and the beans are soft and not hard.
