(4 pack) Skinner 12 oz Dumpling Pasta

Skinner is my favorite pasta brand because it always cooks up nice and does not form a large, sticky lump of pasta they way some store brands tend to do.. These are my first choice of noodles when making beef stroganoff because they are hearty enough to stand up to the thick gravy. Being raised in the deep South, I would not ever consider these to be dumplings. Like so many things, Skinner pasta has suffered from the malady known as "shrinkflation". No longer packaged in 1-lb bags, some of my recipes have had to be adjusted. Otherwise, I have to try to measure out what 1/3 of a second bag would be to get a full pound. I don't like then having a partial bag opened in the pantry. Usually, I end up cooking 2 packages, then remove what I think is that additional 8-oz (pre-cooked) portion. I can then seal that in a container to refrigerate for use in a side-dish a few days later.

Skinner brand Dumpling Pasta is my very FAVORITE pasta!! I rarely give 5 stars, but these definite deserve a full 5-star rating. The size and shape are perfect for soups, stews and casseroles. I could not find them for sale for about a year, and was SO disappointed; now I found 4 pkgs at Walmart for less than $1.10 per bag! I feel like I struck a gold mine!! Thank you, Walmart, for making these available again, and at a great price as well!

Be careful and watch these noodles closely when cooking, they will turn into absolute mush. Will definitely be using something else for my soups.

I thought I was ordering extra wide egg noodles.... After a couple hours of cooking and adding lots of expensive ingredients , it all had to be thrown away due to the noodles turning to mush and disintegrating. Better to stick with what you know. The Reviews looked very promising, I guess you really have to know what you're doing with this type of pasta.
