I don't own a cow. I don't have an udder - but I sometimes work in extreme heat and cold. This stuff will keep you from a heat rash and helps rubbed between all your toes to deal with serious cold weather wearing multiple socks. It will aid dried scaly skin on your elbows. The only negative is my wife hates the odor of it. I've written this into my science fiction books as a must have for people who work long hours in spacesuits. I LOVE this stuff. I bought both corona ointment and this bag balm. I found bag balm to be more gentle and much more soothing. This is amazing. You can use it for anything. My dog, my cat, my horse, myself! It heals and soothes like magic. I always have some of this stuff on hand. I love the tin, too! Perfect for easy access! I will be buying this for a very long time and recommending it to everyone. GREAT value and quality. I'm extremely happy.
Great product that actually works on my dead/dry skin. Does tend to cause the coverage area to turn darker.
This is a staple in my grooming kit! I use it for so many different things, including small scrapes, rubs, and dry, flaky skin. I also use it on spots with dry scabs to add a little moisture back into the healing process. It comes in a beautiful tin with a secure lid, and it lasts forever. I'm always surprised how far a little bit goes, and I love that I can rub any excess on my own dry hands. The lanolin really helps to trap the moisture in when you are using it, and it smells great too. It is worth mentioning that it gets melty and runny if it gets too warm, so avoid leaving it in the direct sun (I learned that the hard way!). When it's cold it gets pretty hard, but with a rub from your fingers it softens up again. Overall, it will be best to work at if you can leave it in a temperature controlled environment.
No one who owns a horse should ever be without bag balm in their tack box! So many uses for this product. We especially like it for keeping cuts and scrapes from scabbing over. Indispensable.
My grandma swore by this, & a guy at my dad's work does, as well. He said he used it on his lips, on his hands, his cattle, his mare, & everything else. LOL. I was kind of skeptical at first, but after talking to my mom and finding out my grandma used it for everything too, we bought some & it was great! I used it for my Colorado-cracked hands, & my mom eventually took it & I haven't seen it LOL but I want to buy a big one and keep it for the horses :)! Yes, it's safe for us humans!
I bought this for myself rather than the animals but it works well for them too. Helps heal wounds on the criitters and works great on human chapped lips! I have used Bag Balm for years and love the stuff.
My vet recommended Bag Balm to soften calluses developing on my horse's knees and hocks and to protect them. I observed improvement soon after beginning nightly application. A few weeks later, the calluses are healing and her hair is beginning to grow back. And, after I've applied it to her legs, I rub the excess on my hands to soften them.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Yet another use for this product, my farrier recommended that I use this on my horses hooves to encourage healthy new growth and to promote better hoof quality. Simply smear on a pea size amount of balm on the upper part of the coronary band daily. Since doing this, my horses hooves look even better than before, and as a bonus, my hands are also nicely moisturized! Great product to have on hand!
The best stuff for my gelding's fly bitten sheath. Gentle but helps to heal quickly.
