Although holding the spring mechanism in place while setting it does require a bit of finger strength, this is still the least expensive, most effective quick kill trap around. I place a 2 by 2 foot piece of plastic on the floor and put trap in the center for easier removal once the deed has been done. Buy a few of these----there's never just one who moves in. You can bet there's family close by.

This rat trap is huge. The wooden area on this rat trap is very thick and sturdy. There is plenty of room to put your bait and the spring action is no joke and has a lot of power. Would definitely recommend for anyone who is having an issue with rats.

Victor Mouse and Rat Traps have been around for as long as I can remember which attests to their quality and effectiveness. Living on a large farm, mice and rats are to be expected and snap traps are an effective method of keeping them under control. I refuse to use poison as that is inhumane and can affect other species as well as domesticated cats and dogs. Victor traps are well-made and last a long time.

The traps are great- they work as expected and are more effective and less expensive than more complicated options. This review is really for Walmart in general. This purchase was our first with the service and we found the offered price to be 35% cheaper than the local big box hardware store and about 15% cheaper than another large online seller. Delivery was free and completed within 12 hours. I'm sure we will be using Walmart for many of our future purchases.

Product is fine. I generally do not shop at Walmart, though, because the in store shopping experience is seldom good. Often too few cashiers, employees shopping online orders often block aisles, person at door makes me wait while they check items the cashier has already checked, etc, etc……

This trap is ok. Large enough, easy enough to set but somewhat flimsy. Not sure if they'll be able to be used more than once, but at this price that's ok if they'll do an efficient job. Not sure yet of the effectiveness of the mechanism. I've had a similar type of large wooden Victor trap before, and it worked much better than a mean mama cat on half-rations!

it's very unfortunate. but it seems that the company "Victor", haven't been doing a good job with them checking the quality of their rat traps. out of the last 8 that I ordered, 5 of them won't work right. I had to make some adjustments, by bending certain area's of each one of the traps that wasn't working correctly. a couple of them, I had to make multiple adjustments to them. one one of the traps, as I was carrying it to place it in the location, it let go and snapped on my index finger. causing a split that required me to quickly bandage it. there was blood all over the floor. I only wish that they would check their traps before shipping them out for customers to buy. I also don't care for the rat traps new design with the plastic bate area. the metal arm that you put under it to set the trap, tends to slip on the plastic which prematurely sets off the trap.

I'm not sure if something changed regarding the way they were made, but I have bought a lot of these from Walmart in the past few months due to a horrible mouse problem that we have been having and its been a bit difficult setting them up. At first it was really easy to set the trap but the last time I bought these, the trap kept disengaging itself before I could put it down and it even closed on my finger! It was a bit painful and frustrating. I have sense retired these traps and purchased a different type of mouse traps that do not have the metal piece to pull back.

Absolute garbage. Bought 6 of both, the smaller %26 larger traps for both mice and rats. Both were on sale and we had a mouse that was coming out at night so I figured I'd try this before poison %26 having to smell it. The smaller and larger ones were BOTH defective. They won't set, every time you try to set them they don't catch. They snap. The smaller one snapped my fingers and the larger one almost snapped my hand, this is a DANGEROUS THING to be defective %26 if they were on sale for being faulty, there should have been a customer warning. At first I thought maybe it was user error on my part and got my husband to try them and he had the same issue.

At first I thought this was a good product, typical mouse trap, but as soon as I got the product I saw the warning sign on the back of the wrapper. It literally says this product can expose you to chemicals that cause cancer and birth defects. It is totally absurd and so unnecessary to use this kind of harmful chemicals on a simple mouse trap. I would not buy or recommend this to anyone.
