I didn't realize how big this was until I picked it up. It's quite large and heavy, perfect for rats! It took me a minute to understand the directions, but after that set-up was a breeze. The kill bar has a very hard snap and holding power. I have caught a rat yet, but I know this will do the trick once one "takes the bait".

The traps are great- they work as expected and are more effective and less expensive than more complicated options. This review is really for Walmart in general. This purchase was our first with the service and we found the offered price to be 35% cheaper than the local big box hardware store and about 15% cheaper than another large online seller. Delivery was free and completed within 12 hours. I'm sure we will be using Walmart for many of our future purchases.

I don't know if we get rats where I live, thankfully - but in the winter mice definitely become an issue. Some can be a bit bigger and this trap looks perfect. It's a good size and I can just leave it on a higher shelf out of the way until something is caught.

A few weeks before this purchase, I picked up two 4-packs of the new yellow pedal-style small mouse traps at Lowe's. Compared to the older version, these are much easier to set and noticeably more sensitive. In just a short time, I've already caught seven more mice outside my garage. These traps are incredibly effective, and I'll definitely keep using them. Highly recommended!

The fact that it's made of real wood from certified sources is a bonus. And since there are no poisons or chemicals involved, I feel safer using it in my garage and even inside the house where my pets are. Once the trap goes off, cleanup is quick: lift it, toss it, reset if needed. No mess, no lingering smell. This is old-school pest control that still dominates, and I always keep a few on hand for surprise invaders.

Is anyone else having trouble catching the mice that escape the good outdoors and make your home theirs? I've used these traps for years but this year they are just not catching mice. I've seen the mice but nothing caught. Did Victor change the way these are made? The wood used?

I can't set these. I've tried 6 times and watched many videos but the hook doesn't stay under the plastic bait pad. I've called pest control and asked for help and they said these traps are not good and metal on plastic don't work very well, if the plastic gets too hot it can warp and thin and won't work properly, and I live in Florida so it's not a good option for us. They are a very big size to catch a rat so if you can set them with ease I believe they will do just fine!

The worst customer service I've experienced. I've purchased many dozens of these rat traps over the years. Recently I received several batches that were defective where the attachment staples over penatrated the wood base and came out the backside of the trap. This made the trap unfunctional and with sharp staples exposed. (found out the hard way). I'm up to 9 of these defective rat traps. Frustrated with the sudden poor quality control I contacted customer service and was on hold for nearly 20 minutes to be told... No offer to replace. No sorry about the issue. No a single question. Just... "Thank you for letting us know about this issue" Something as simple as a rat trap and they screwed it up!

At first I thought this was a good product, typical mouse trap, but as soon as I got the product I saw the warning sign on the back of the wrapper. It literally says this product can expose you to chemicals that cause cancer and birth defects. It is totally absurd and so unnecessary to use this kind of harmful chemicals on a simple mouse trap. I would not buy or recommend this to anyone.
