[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our bathtub had seen better days and replacing it just wasn't in the budget. This product was a savior! It made our old dingy tub look new again! Be sure to thoroughly clean your tub and follow the directions step by step for the best results. Don't rush the process! I especially love how shiny and durable it is.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had an old cast iron bath tub in need of refinishing. Using this kit is not the easiest thing ever, but the results left me pleasantly surprised. I would recommend using a foam roller and a brush to get a seamless finish. Start at the top and side of the tub and make your way to the base of the tub, otherwise you'll have leftover drips. It's a goopy consistency and kind of hard to deal with, but if you continuously monitor it for drips, you should be fine. I turned off the lights in my bathroom and used a flashlight to identify drips I couldn't see at first. I would also recommend using an anti-slip material on the base of the tub to avoid slipping as the paint can be slick. Great for DIY projects.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is closest you can get to a brand new looking tub and tile in your bathroom. I would recommend doing this project over the summer so you can keep your windows open to help with the smell. Super easy to do!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this refinishing kit for my kids' bath tub. The floor of the tub had brown spots from a non skid mat we had in there. You cannot even tell there were any marks as it now looks brand new. I recommend to prep the area very well and make sure you read the instructions as well.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This came in perfect timing. Our bathroom redoes were much needed and this stuff was amazing to use. The ease of the application helped tremendously and worked wonderful. Our tubs look brand new now and I'm excited to see how many years it'll last
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kit took a ton of prep work in order to get our embarrassing 1960's stained bathtub ready, but the work was worth it. It took three coats in a couple of bad areas, but it looks like new now and I am so glad we did it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently moved in to a new home that needed a lot of TLC. The bathtub was not in our budget to replace. This refinishing kit, however, was in our budget. Our old dingy tub looks brand new! It's not an easy process, but it was totally worth it. It took 48 hours total. You have to clean and sand the tub really well before you paint. Rollers give it the most even coat. Also make sure you can ventilate the room really well because the smell is intense.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family and I live in a late ‘90's mobile home. As all do, the tub had turned a yellowish tan color. No matter how much we cleaned it, it stayed this color. No longer! With the Rust-oleum tub refinishing kit, it looks better than I can ever remember.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Using this to renew a built in claw foot tub that has been refinished but has yellowed and flaked off over the years. The most important step is the preparation. Cleaned with bleach mixture after a thorough cleaning with regular bath cleaner. Sanded with 310 wet/dry paper and finished with 400 grit wet/dry. This is done to dull the surface so the new finish will adhere. Spend lots of time on this step . Remove if possible all chrome fittings such as drain, overflow and faucet. If not possible get all old caulking out and sand completely around these areas and mask off. I used a 1 1/2” bristle brush and a 4” mohair roller with a quarter inch nap. I needed two kits to complete two coats. Take time to apply evenly so you have no runs. My job came up pretty nice. Re caulk all areas around drains and faucet. This product does really smell so I used a respirator and ran an exhaust fan for about 2 days. Allow this to cure for 3 or 4 days. Do not clean for at least a week and don't use anything abrasive. I was happy with the results and hope it lasts another 15 years. It is a lot of work.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Looks amazing and it was a much better option than having to replace our entire bathtub. It took a lot less time and much less of a mess. I defiantly recommend to update your tub/shower. Our was an off white slightly yellow and now it's a pretty new white color!
