This is the cheese I use for spaghetti and for making lasagna. It has a welcome sharp Romano taste that holds up to cooking and is balanced by a comparative sweetness from the Parmesan. Now with 4C's addition of cellulose powder (to prevent caking), the cheese is always ready to pour freely. This cheese is also the best I've found for salads, sandwiches, and Ramen noodles, but don't bother putting it on burritos.
Although this is slightly more expensive than that national brand in the green container,, the price is well worth it. This does not have that bitter "back-bite" often associated with the "other" brand. This stuff is excellent on a variety of foods, not just Italian style. Try it on a meatloaf sandwich!
Sooo much better than the green can stuff. Absolutely wonderful, especially considering the mere few pennies more one pays per serving. I will never go back to the wood shavings that are found in a green can of Kraft. Better still, buy a chunk of real Italian Parmesan, at a competitors store, and finely grate at home, as you need it. Then place into a double ziplock freezer bag and pop it into your freezer for good safekeeping.
Parmesear, romano are both very costly in any form. The price point of this at this time is great for me as I use quite a bit when I try to make pomodoro. The quality has a good taste and looks or pours well too as I worry after hearing the fillers that are used in store ground parm, etc. Thank you Walmart.
This is now my Favorite Italian Cheese for Pastas, Pizzas, Salads and Recipes. Wonderful Consistency and Smooth Flavor and NOT Too Finely Ground. It comes in 8 oz Shakers or Jars. Yum!!!
A must have in many recipes that I follow.
As good as any Ive tried!
Works better than any other of its kind!!
Thought it would have more flavor. I usually just purchase fresh Romano and enjoy the flavor of it just being grated. Purchased this for when I do not have time to grate. It will work for now.
Good considering it is not freshly grated cheese
