Well I live in America and as of yet, since my relatively recent purchase of the emergency food, I haven't been through any emergencies yet. But having extra food that doesn't require a refrigerator gives me hope that if I have an emergency where I lose power I won't die too quickly. My advice to people in an emergency is first to try fasting. You may outlast the length of the emergency. God made our bodies capable of storing energy in the form of body fat for emergencies where you don't have food available to eat. I do it a lot to maintain my weight and for its other health benefits. Water is different though. You need to store plenty of it ahead of time. You won't make it long without water. But for an emergency that lasts more than 20 days (my longest fasting period so far) you should have extra food, that doesn't need power to stay fresh, on hand. It gives you hope that you will survive at least long enough to get right with Jesus. (But I recommend doing that ahead of time.)
