I love these stainless steel straws (and thanks for including the little cleaning brush) as I have MS, and as with any neurological condition, toxins that can be avoided... should be. Bacteria and viruses require a tangible host, the reason metals are used to thwart the growth of either (the reason the old wooden doorknobs were replaced by metal or glass), so these straws should make never drinking out of recycled plastics again a reality. Things good for humans, the planet and everything living on it, are always a win-win. These straws are also a perfect thickness/thinness, but remember to watch your front teeth when using any metal straws; the benefits far outweigh the risks for me. The delivery was fast too!
I've been trying to reduce plastic usage, and it's nice to have these reusable stainless steel straws for drinking. The price was good and the shipping time was reasonable.
Great product.
I was very disappointed as I only receive 2 straws instead of three. Look at the submitted pictures. I gave it a 3 rating because of this.
bendable metal straw, now my grandson wont chew on them
These aren't quite long enough for most of our cups. I do like that it has a brush though.
the straws are too short and one was missing from package
A little short for tumblers with a lid but otherwise nice.
I'd only recommend these straws in a pinch. The straw brush is really what to buy them for, and you can get that separately online if you want, and probably for a lot less money. I have a tone of complaints about these straws, and some suggestions for improvements. The "flexible" part doesn't collapse down, and there is no built-in bottom "gasket" to keep the straw from falling out of a lid with a straw hole in it (if the cup happens to tip over, the straw will come flying out). I literally had to turn one of them upside down so the flexible part serves as that gasket "stopper." They're a bit on the wide side for their diameter. They need to be about 2 mm. less in diameter width. They also need to be at least a cm taller. A nice touch would be if they came with their own set of silicone straw toppers (just plain, not designer, would do). That would at least justify the cost. As for the steal part being flexible, that's kind of true, but with a lot of work. Again, it doesn't collapse down, so that's not great for storage. Note that when it says "4 piece set," that includes the straw brush, so it's 3 straws, not 4. That doesn't work well with 4-glass sets that have the bamboo lids (with straw holes in them). This needs to be a "5 piece set." If they were narrower, more flexible, taller, came with a built-in gasket (and maybe also some generic straw toppers), and were 4 straws rather than three, then I would say that they would do well with one of those Asian travel kits that includes the steal chopsticks, spoon, knife, and fork. As it is, I can only get one of these in the kit that I have. Either way, they need their own travel container, and they really shouldn't be sold "air exposed" the way they are. This is winter, and they're just hanging in the isles to get sneezed and coughed on. Get real. Package them and include a container for them while you're at it! Also, allowing one straw to be easily removed and put back at the store is just inviting brats to remove them, put them in their mouths, then put them back without getting caught. GROSS. I pre-washed the one I'm using now, but still... It is nice to know I'm not putting leached plastic chemicals into what I drink anymore, but I feel that for as much of a pain as these straws are, as they are right now, they're over priced.
I ordered these before and loved them. I ordered them again recently as part of a delivery. One of the straws was missing. Either the person that shopped them put a defective item in my cart, or the driver took one. Either way I was not happy about receiving a defective item and having to drive to the store to refund it. The gas to do so costs about as much as the item.
