Very strong glass. I like the glass jar because you are able to utilize for hot or cold blending.

Great item! This was an exact reproduction of the original glass jar for my 1980's vintage Oster Galaxie blender, right down to the measurement markings. Whoever produced this must have had access to the original mold. The existing base assembly and lid lined up perfectly. I have relied on this blender for over 30 years and was very upset when I accidentally dropped the jar onto my tile kitchen floor. It literally exploded when it hit. I was so afraid that I was going to have to buy a new blender as I assumed that replacement parts would not be available for an appliance this old. Now I can keep Osterizing; hopefully for many years to come!

Exactly what I was expecting. Great replacement jar. The original jar was round, but I think the square shape actually works better -- help agitate and mix the contents when the blender operates.

I was expecting also the lid...
