I loved the original AM/PM Pilates DVD and was distraught when it got scratched. I didn't think I could find a better replacement, but I did! What a bonus that I got those 2 workouts I loved plus 3 more on the same disc! This DVD is awesome to keep your body challenged by not letting your muscles get too used to the same workout. You couldn't ask for a better DVD!!!
As a beginner to pilates, this DVD is challenging for me. I started with Ana Caban's Quickstart for Weight Loss Pilates, which became too easy for me. I am a fan of Ana Caban, and she has four workouts on this DVD. I did not like the one workout from the other woman. One of the workouts is a short, 12 minute pilates explanation, so there are really only three workouts that I do regularly on the DVD, which is still a good value for the money. It gives me variety, since I do pilates three days a week.
This DVD is a great option when you want to try a few different things with different difficulty levels. I found the into section easy-moderate but could barely keep up with the more difficult moves in the cardio session. I love that there are plenty of options in one DVD
I love this DVD for after a run! Running alone does not help with flexibility, so this DVD is a great addition to my routine. It's also great for after weight training, to cool you down and make sure you properly tend to those muscles! Great DVD!
For someone who hasn't exercised in a long time, this DVD was a great help in starting to ease into a good workout that breaks a little sweat. There are 5 workouts lasting about 25-30 minutes each. The 5 workouts are called: Easy Pilates (beginner), Maintenance Pilates for Weight Loss (gets me feeling a good sore the next day), Cardio Pilates, AM Pilates, and PM Pilates. I'm glad that there are 5 workouts in 1 dvd so that i don't get bored with one workout. The Maintenance Pilates was a challenge, I couldn't follow exactly what she was doing since it was difficult for me to do, but even attempting it really worked my body.
I enjoy this DVD as a whole but am really confused by what the back of the dvd case says. I started with the PM pilates and noticed that it was around 11 min although it said 27 min on the box. I then did the AM pilates and realized that it was with Ana Caban when the case says Jillian Hessel. I found urther mix ups when doing the first easy pilates routine. I enjoyed some of these workouts but I'm just really confused by what I'm actually doing because it doesn't say on the dvd menu but the case seems to be completely wrong. Has anyone else noticed this or am I just seeing something wrong?
Really worked on my core and toned up my abs and arms. Worked well for my beginner level and was easy to get back into when I got out of shape again. Excellent DVD!
I love Anna Caban! she is very easy to follow. However, I think that this dvd is too easy for me. I've been doing pilates for two years and I expect a bigger challenge. Moreover, some of the workouts are too short.
There are parts of this that are new to me, which I liked, but some of the same poses are repeated on different program tracks, so it doesn't feel like 5 different workouts. Even though I'm an intermediate yogi, I found the cardio part of that particular workout to be difficult, almost annoying. But then I like my yoga/pilates to be relaxing, which that definitely was not. I will recommend this, as it's not a bad DVD, just not totally what I was expecting.
These are filmed in the same location and are extremely similar or the same as routines on another DVD I have of Jillian's. I really wish they wouldn't do this. Why should I pay for the same routines just arranged differently.
