Unlike other gluten free pasta this holds up and doesn't get mushy. It also doesn't have an unpleasant flavor and the body breaks it down. The add protein is top notch.
Great alternative for those who want more nutritional value in their pasta. Nice flavor, cooks up slightly firmer than regular pasta, but I prefer that. Will purchase again.
This was such a great tasting lentil pasta. It made a yummy tasting Italian dish without the heavy tummy feel! I would recommend this pasta, we loved it!!
I can't digest wheat so red lentils are the option for me. I love the shape. It holds red sauce well. I have boiled this and added red sauce, baked it with a cashew white sauce and used it for a cold salad. It stands up to all of my crazy food ideas and tastes great! I noticed a penne and a spaghetti noodle also. So far this is my reliable replacement for wheat noodles. Thank you for not having complicated ingredients!!
First non-flour based pasta I have ever liked. I now stock this in my pantry regularly, and it is a perfect pasta replacement. Fully cooked, it still has an "al-dente" texture, and holds sauces well. I have had best luck with the "cold water" method for cooking, toss it in cold water just covering the pasta, and bring to a simmer, and finish cooking as recommended. Comes in several standard pasta shapes as well. The rotini is great with alfredo or pesto. Love it!
I use it for gluten free spaghetti like dishes. It has a good filling feel. I also eat lentil soup, different product, from raw lentils. They don't have much taste, like most noodles. Their texture is pretty good and seems thicker, when eating, than most other gluten free noodles. They do take a few more minutes to cook in boiling water than brown rice noodles. I mix them with brown rice noodles to get more nutrients and they add more texture than soft brown rice noodles.
Very tasty. Wouldn't know the difference between this and regular pasta. But lentel does not give you the glycemic spike that regular pasta does.
Good non-wheat option. Remain a bit more solid than normal noodles, but delicious. A tad pricey, but still fair price compared to competition.
I really did not like this stuff at all. YUCK! It's cheap but if I don't like the flavor is it a good deal for the money? I don't think so. It took a long time to cook and it loses almost all of it's red color. I found that disappointing but I don't think it would taste better if it were more red. It's mushy and gritty at the same time. I have a thing for textures and I do not like gritty textures in my food. This is gritty in the same way as lima beans or kidney beans. I strongly dislike that texture so this stuff was not a treat for me. I also did not like the flavor, it's just weird. I like lentils but this does not taste anything like lentils. I tried it with alfredo sauce and it was not a good mix. I was really hoping this would work because regular pasta makes my blood sugar skyrocket. This stuff did increase my blood sugar but not as much as regular pasta so it's a no win on all levels and I will not be buying it again.
I made a pasta using these noodles, nobody in my family liked it. I followed the directions on the box, the noodles had no taste and the texture was off. We ended up throwing the salad in the garbage.
