Gotta love the price for pasta that is just as good as name brands! I always a jar of GV alfredo on hand and when I cook the whole package at once, , I strain the pasta, then just add the sauce right from the jar to the pasta. Add a little water to the jar, put lid on and shake to get the remainder out, pour it on also and mix it up! What an easy satisfying meal and low cost, too.
My son is a pasta lover . So when I seen I could buy like 500 packs lol joking but it was a lot for your buck I jumped on it. He will have pasta for a while and he is okay with it as he has made it a staple in his life every day to have a bowl of it. I can't complain. Glad it's this he is addicted to . There are far worse things
I use this for fettuccine Alfredo along with either homemade or store bought sauce. Frequently, I will add shrimp or crab to make the meal a little more delightful. Boil the noodles and add the sauce, this makes for a quick dinner anytime. Adding the seafood doesn't take much longer at all. Add some steamed veggies and you have a complete meal.
I have been to Italy. I have stood in the shadow of the Colosseum, felt the cobblestones beneath my feet, and eaten pasta made by a grandmother who has been making pasta since before my country existed. And I want to be very clear: this is not that. This is Great Value Fettuccine, 16 oz, from Walmart. It costs about a dollar. It is filling. I ate it and then I was no longer hungry. That is the entire contract and it was honored completely. It is yummy. I know "yummy" is a strong word. I am prepared to defend it. I put a jar of sauce on it and I ate it at my kitchen table at 7pm on a Wednesday and I thought, with genuine feeling: this is yummy. Not transcendent. Not life-altering. Yummy. The specific yumminess of a thing that is exactly what it says it is. It is convenient. The ingredients are semolina and niacin and a few other things that keep the noodle from falling apart. There is no ingredient on this list that surprised or alarmed me. I did not need to google anything. I boiled water, I waited, I ate. The whole process took less time than it took me to find something to watch while I ate it. Five stars. The bar was the ground and it walked right over it.
I usually buy Bertolli brand pasta. But I watched Julia Pacheco make a wonderful, fast and easy dinner using Great Value. I trust her taste (although she put CHEESE on everything!). My family like Alfredo, so we eat a lot of Fettuccine. I've been very satisfied.
YES, KIDDIES, I, TOO HAD BEEN SUCKERED INTO BUYING THOSE BOUTIQUE PASTAS IN THEIR MANY FORMS, COLOURS, ET AL. MY PASTA EPIPHANY CAME AS I BROWSED THE AISLE IN A LOCAL WALMART SHOP. I FIRST CHECKED THE INGREDIENTS. THEN MOVED OVER TO A WELL-KNOWN BRAND AND DID THE SAME: GUESS WHAT? BOTH THE GREAT VALUE PASTA AND THOSE OTHERS LISTED THE EXACT INGREDIENTS. WHAT MORE CAN I TELL YOU?
Our family really enjoys this pasta size due to that it’s thicker and makes a great pasta dish for Chicken Alfredo Dinner…quick and easy. I purchase the chicken breast and slice it butterfly cut and sprinkle sea salt, pepper, onion powder and rosemary herbs…..always can skip the rosemary and add smoke paprika.. stear each side of the breast and chop into cubs. Add to the pasta…We do use extra sauce for the rich flavor…This is our cheat meal when we are on low carb. Once in a while you need your carbs❤️.
The sauce is perfect. Has a great taste. Great for making chicken Alfredo. The texture is perfect. I just added some Parmesan cheese and chicken and dinner was ready.
These fettuccine cook exceptionally well for the price. They don't stick to the pan, and the texture is perfect for eating. I'll definitely continue buying this brand.
If this is more any more than 99 cents a box I wouldn't buy it. as far as generic pasta Cooks up okay taste okay if you don't keep stirring the noodles just stick together. I found with this past I actually have to put a couple taste tablespoons of oil and when I boil it or else the pasta sticks together terribly.
