Believe it or not, I have been buying Rice Krispies for a few months. I got tired of 1) the price and 2) the brown tips on the rice. There are not nearly as many brown spots on the Walmart brand as with the others. Big national brands do not always serve you well.
Very similar to the popular brand right down to the snap crackle and pop. I like that for some reason. Maybe it reminds me of being a kid. I get the larger size because I eat a lot of it. All the Great Value cereals are full of flavor and fresh. They're high quality and very affordable. .
Great Value Brand-Rice Krispies are perfect and as good as the "name" brand. They are good to eat as cereal but I mostly use them to make rice Krispy treats. The recipe is even on the box! They are inexpensive compared to the other brand and are of equal quality in my opinion.
I really like the GV Toasted Rice Crisps. They always are fresh and crunchy. It is a light breakfast. I feel ready to begin the day, but not loaded down by something too heavy. Also, they are QUIET, not like a similar brand. It's a terrific value; the box seems to last forever for a small price and it is tastes as if you just opened it to the last. For this reason, I always keep a box on hand along with the GV Toasted O's.
I have eaten this cereal as a snack and made crispy treats with it. It taste and looks just like the Kelloggs cereal, same size and texture. I buy it because quality matters over price but with this product you get both. Reasonably priced and great quality. Satisfaction guaranteed if you do not like it.
I finally found a cereal that doesn't turn into a sponge after 30 seconds. I usually stick to the same few brands for cereal, but I decided to grab a box of these Great Value Toasted Rice Crisps on my last grocery run to mix things up a bit. I needed something quick in the mornings that doesn't require any actual cooking, and this definitely fits the bill. The box is the standard 12 oz size, so it's lasted me about a week and a half of breakfasts. The crisps themselves have a good, light crunch that doesn't get soggy the second you pour the milk on them, which is my number one pet peeve with cereal. You can actually eat it at a normal pace and still have some texture left in the bowl. The flavor is exactly what you'd expect—a straightforward, lightly toasted rice taste. It's not overly sweet, which I actually prefer because I can add a little fruit to it without it becoming a sugar bomb. My only small complaint is that there can be a fair amount of "fines" (the tiny broken bits) at the bottom of the bag by the time you get to the end. It's not a dealbreaker, but you end up with a dusty last bowl if you're not careful when you pour. I'm hoping the bag stays fresh enough to keep that crunch for a while, since I don't eat cereal every single day. Overall, it's a solid, no-frills option that gets the job done.
Used for making Halloween rice krispie treats %26 they were perfect! Super fresh %26 crispy crunchy! Excellent with milk %26 sugar for breakfast too!
DOESN'T COMPARE TO ""KELLOGS""............IT GETS SOGGY TOO QUICKLY AND TASTE IS "BLAHHHHH!!!" I ORDERED "RICE KRISPIES" ON MY ONLINE ORDER AND THIS WAS WHAT I GOT. I'LL EAT IT BECAUSE IT 'S JUST A "SMALL BOX"...BUT WON'T BUY IT AGAIN. (I DID NOT SPECIFY "KELLOGGS", SO.."MY FAULT"!!)
Tastes okay and has a good crispy texture. But that's where it ends. This cereal is not whole grain. It's made from processed rice flour which has been made to look like grains of puffed rice. I'm disappointed to find that out and now I will be going back to the original Rice Krispies because those are whole grain and not processed rice flour.
Some of the rice crisps were neon to dark yellow, like they had something dripped on them. Some were white like you'd expect crisped rice to be. I don't know why a company would think rice would look more natural or appetizing in neon yellow or dark McDonalds yellow color. At best it's an example of food coloring that's unhealthy. At worst someone is tampering with it. Very odd
