Umami and kokumi of the BEST ramen at a discount!

Andrea October 30, 2025

My all-time favorite ramen pack is Nissin Raoh. In the USA it costs $2.69 per pack, and if you consider that to be the 100% pack ramen of all time, then this Maruchan contender with slightly different flavor profile (the shiitake accent is quite nice!) is a very competent contender has 85% to 90% of the deliciousness, but at 74% of the price. I don't mean that in a negative way. Delicious ramen is delicious ramen, and if you're craving the umami and kokumi of a hearty bowl of shoyu-based bowl of ramen, don't hesitate -- get this! Add half-boiled eggs (dashi-boiled eggs sliced in half), some menma, and green onions (or scallions) and you'll be in heaven.

Maruchan makes good soup, especially this one

MadMaXXX May 2, 2026

Great tasting soup! Pricier than their cheap variety but the texture and flavor are worth it for a nice treat.

Definitely the best Ramen that is out there ! I love the liquid sauce packet vs. the powder ones. So delicious 😋

Delicious but pricey.

Justin May 11, 2026

Delicious on their own level. A little pricey for ramen but they are better than the cheap ramen.

The one miso that came with my order was completely crushed to the point of being just a package of crumbs!

fairly tasty

the serving size is no different from other ramen that you will find in a supermarket. The taste was pretty nice as well. I'd recommend this if you want to try something new.

I tried it for the first time after seeing it I tasted great it was as salty and the regular maucuran ramen noodles and I also bought some for my Daughter's and the loved it as well. I will be buying this again

Good quality but overpriced

James March 29, 2026

The noodles are not as curled up as with most ramen bricks. They do not smell like fried, but palm oil is the second ingredient. The foil lined bag seems to help retain freshness. The noodles may have just a tiny bit more of a satisfying chew than the cheaper ramen. The liquid soy sauce flavoring packet is big and rich with aroma and umami - that's worth something but I was only willing to try this product once at the current price of 2 bucks. A bit high. Soy sauce broth is the easiest one to make at home using your bottle of soy sauce. I would rate this product as 5 stars if the price was lower.
