I love these, I don't have to clean them when I am done. The size is perfect for my needs and leaves no streaks. Once I am done I can take it apart and use the wood handle in my fireplace, toss the bristles and recycle the rest
Even though I don’t like to paint, it’s a necessary part of renovations. Having the right brushes certainly makes that easier. I am painting baseboards, new trim and kitchen cabinet doors. The doors presently have a flawless finish but I want to change colors. I also want to maintain their perfectly smooth finish. I’m using a paint that promises to do that and the brushes have to perform too. To get into the crevices of the front design of my doors I have to use a chip brush first and I wanted one that has natural bristles, which this one does. It is soft, holds paint well, and did a great job dabbing the paint into corners and ridges. Water based paint washes out easily too. Wood handle. I highly recommend.
I have used these brushes for a lot of projects from painting to crafts. They are inexpensive which makes it easy to use and toss when finished. The brush is great for stripping paint off furniture or applying glue then glitter to a craft project. If you work (massage) the bristles before starting it gets any loose bristle out thus reducing the number that fall out during your project.
I don't like constantly cleaning out brushes. Great idea when you just need for small projects or touch up.
I purchased this 2-inch Natural Bristle Chip Brush with a very specific, low-stakes task in mind: applying BIN shellac-based primer, a process that requires a disposable brush due to the difficulty of cleaning. For this purpose, it worked great initially and was exactly the inexpensive tool I needed to get the priming job done without guilt. Function Over Form (and Longevity) The brush provides a decent application and allowed me to spread the thick primer effectively. However, the inexpensive nature of the brush quickly became apparent in its construction. After only about 20 minutes of continuous painting, the bristles began to fall out at an increasing rate. For a job where the brush was destined for the trash anyway, this was a manageable annoyance, but it highlights a critical flaw. Recommendation While this brush is perfectly acceptable for one-time, throwaway jobs (like priming with shellac or applying glues and resins), I would not recommend it for any kind of finish painting or any project requiring smooth, professional results. The constant shedding of bristles would ruin the surface of any topcoat. Buy it for disposable work, but look elsewhere for quality that lasts. Overall Rating: 3/5 – Excellent value for cheap, temporary tasks; unacceptable quality for long-term or finish work.
If I was a professional painter, I'd be disappointed. But just painting an apartment, handy, good price and disposable.
i knew the brush was not going to be anything fancy. i picked a cheaper one and that is what i expected. Cheap or not i do still expect purchased items to do what they are meant for. The bristles were falling out in the package and when i opened it the little hairs just kept falling and breaking out at the slightest touch. I opted out of using it as just a swipe on my cabinet left hairs all in the paint and on the cabinet. i didnt return it since i painted the few test swipes with it, but i dont recommend unless the hairy look is what you are going for.
I have to say I've been ordering from Walmart for a long time and I love the app on- line ordering and online pick ups but I have to say this was the most disappointing product I've ever seen they listed it at $11 retail and this thing you could find at the dollar store for a buck or less.
The bristles fall off constantly and it's nearly impossible to get an even coat with how they are positioned.
I don’t even know what you could use this for this is so crappy it couldn’t be used for anything. I literally threw it away.
