50 lb. Push Spreader | P20-500BH

I bought this because we get a lot of snow in Warren, OH. One week after purchase (Nov. 8, 2025) we got 6". My driveway is 80' car width. After clearing with my Cub Cadet... I had some snow melt from last season and used it in my new Brinly-Hardy Broadcast Walk-Behind Spreader - worked liked described. I highly recomend as it is well built, easy to assemble and will provide great use in winter and spring seeding.

I purchased a less expensive spreader and only made it 50' before the gears went out! Did my homework and after looking at the big box stores I ordered this unit. My 1st impressions were it is built stronger, you can adjust the height of the handle and the tires make it easy to push compared to the plastic ones on most spreaders. After 15 50# bags of lime and 200# of seed I'm extremely happy with this product .

I bought it for a one acre yard that is pretty rough because of mole damage, etc. The spreader easily navigated the terrain and spread the fertilizer very evenly. I am very happy with my purchase. The spreader is rugged and designed well.

This spreader moves smoothly across my 90 by 120 feet back yard thanks to the wheels. Love this 10 times better than the one it replaced. Good height and easy to maneuver

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this spreader through one and a half seasons now and am pleased with my purchase. I did have a minor issue with a bent part (due to shipping??) but they were helpful in resolving that issue by sending me a new part with no questions asked. Speaking from experience with other spreader brands, this is far better than any spreader you'd find through the chain stores. Sure you may save a few dollars going that route but not worth the lack of quality. I like the big 50lb bucket as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Brinley 50# push spreader having become extremely disappointed in the quality, durability, and performance of all the commonly used name-brand spreaders I've tried. The stainless-steel control mechanism is easier to finely adjust and use than other brands, and the large pneumatic tires have made it easier to keep moving over the many areas of my lawn that aren't so smooth. I like that it uses individual rear support legs instead of a single U-shaped tube to support it when loading etc. Not having that U-shaped tube running across the back eliminates knocking the weed killer off the wet grass and weeds I'd just so carefully made an application to! Nice to use something of good quality and craftsmanship again.

The spreader is built sturdy enough but the rear legs are to long, they limit maneuverability on upward grades and they hang up in the grass in a reversing motion. The agitator is to small and does not allow all the material to empty at the bottom of the bucket.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The wing nut are mad of plastic and I'm afraid to really tight them. The lever and spreader opening doesn't see to work properly. It either opens too much or not enough. When wiggling the lever to get the spreader opening to open more is seem to put the wingnut that sets the opening for the spreader.

I gave the product an avg. score as most all spreaders in this class suffer from cheaply made parts. the proportioning lever does not stay in place while the spreader is in use. The hopper does not empty as the cotter key is all that agitates the product.

The cheap plastic Scott spreaders broadcast fertilizer and seed better than this unit. It will broadcast good for a pass or two and then it trickles. You have to shake it, thump it to get it to broadcast better. Highly disappointed.
