Wow, the colors! And the brightness and the sound! Of course I did go from an archaic 39 inch tube TV to this so the picture is a quantum leap upgrade. But it is beautiful and watching YouTube videos on a 50 inch screen is awesome. Using your smartphone as a remote is so much fun and very convenient. If you have a cable converter box you would use their remote for watching regularly scheduled programs. With access to WIFI (or wired-FI) you can access Netflix, Hulu and a bunch of app based programming on your smartphone and cast it right to your TV. Although I end up looking through the available content longer than watching it! I would prefer the remote that came with the TV to have a few more functions such as settings, but that is a very small issue. Especially since you can watch content on the TV and still explore the hundreds of additional free and paid entertainment options. You can even cast your personal videos and pictures and with this TV's resolution they will look great. I don't think you will find a better TV with these options available at this price anywhere else. I also got free shipping right to my front door. So go buy one.
The TV works really good it has really good quality and when it was delivered the delivery person to put the legs on and put it in the room and basically set it up for me which was very nice
Easy to set up, but remote included is weak. They want u to use your smartphone as remote, yet it takes time to load the app on the phone everytime you want to turn on the tv.
This unit replaced an original VIZiO screens, we were one of the first to buy VIZIO. All I had to do was to reconnect the coax, enter the home network password and voila. I am still learning all of the additional extras of the smartcast, but it is very impressive how far VIZIO has come.
I bought this for my husband for Father's day and he loves it. He did not download the chrome cast app since we have netflix on our cable box but he loves the TV. He picture snd sound is great and I love that you don't hear the tv click on and off. This is the 2nd vizio we have bought and I couldn't be happier with our choice.
3rd Vizio I've purchased & all still working like the day they came out of the box. Wanted a 50 inch but couldn't find the width of the base anywhere online. Saw it at a big box store & salesperson had no clue. Called Vizio customer service & spoke to Dustin who had the info in less than 30 seconds. So impressed with his service & knowledge, I purchased the E50-E1 directly from Vizio. Actually saved nearly 100 bucks by not buying it locally. Great picture though wish it was 120hz but the 4K makes up for it. Easy set-up, found my Wi-Fi connection pronto & was flying in no time. Haven't gotten into the phone app or Chromecast yet but sure it'll work fine. Would suggest a Vizio soundbar to enhance the experience, makes a big difference. And a big selling point, customer service located in the U.S. not outsourced to the far east. Money well spent!
Read some of the reviews, some good and some difficult. My husband and I both did the setting up. Didn't call any technicians to figure it out. After downloading the app from Google store the TV was up and running within an hour. Have Comcast and didn't need the baby remote that came with it.
I'm glad I purchased this tv but there are a couple of things I feel they cut corners on. First, the speakers are small and on the back of the tv. You won't be happy without an added soundbar. My 55" had a nice base to stand on. This one has little legs on the outside edges. Limits the size table it can sit on. The picture is good and the price was good.
You have to manage the tv by your phone
We spent 3 days trying to set it up and even their support could not get it to work. Returned it. Bought a different brand. It took 5 minutes to set up. Also, some of the newer Vizios don't have tuners, so you can't watch local channels.
