I installed it in a spare work room to draw out stagnant air and smoke and does the job well, though it's not super powerful for the wattage and volts it uses. I paid $20 for it at the time, and for the price, it's well worth it. You can hear it when it runs but it's low, so it's not going to drive you crazy. Solid construction. You'll have to split the cable if you want to be able to turn it on or off, as it doesn't have an on/off switch, so when plugged in, it runs constantly.

I had a smelly, musty basement for years! It's a 1600 sq foot finished basement with bedrooms. It always had a smell. Not even expensive air purifiers helped. I had my husband cut a hole in the cement to the outside, and used this little exhaust fan. My basement doesn't smell!!

The exhaust fan came slightly damaged probably from being dropped. There wasn't any cushion material in the factory box. I was able to get the fan straightened and working. I'm lowering the rating due to poor protection in the package. However, the low cost justifies recommending the fan for ventilation of small areas.

Buyer be aware ! Poor quality all around. I bought two. One overs heats. The other makes a weird noise. They are not 6in. Contractor had to use a spacer to connect to duct. I will be returning they are garbage!

It arrived broken with the fan blades sticking out of the grill. Return was easy and credit was given immediately, though.
