This is a pretty decent quality of floss. I'm pretty particular about dental floss because I floss carefully behind my permanent retainer each day, so I tend to notice pretty quickly when a floss is too thin, weak, or likely to break or rip on my retainer. This one honestly surprised me in a good way considering how inexpensive it is compared to a lot of other waxed mint floss options. The floss itself feels sturdy and has enough strength to hold up well without shredding or tearing easily while flossing around my retainer. I also like that the wax coating helps it glide between my teeth more smoothly without feeling overly slippery and being really gentle on my gums. It was easy to maneuver and I did not have issues with it getting stuck or starting to fray halfway through using it which was surprising for a generic floss. I had ordered a "better quality" floss around the same time that was nearly 4 times the cost of this one. This one has held up really well when flossing while the more expensive one would practically fall apart before I even started flossing. The mint flavor is noticeable without being overwhelming, and it leaves behind a mild minty freshness afterward that I appreciate. It also feels gentle and comfortable to use, especially for regular daily flossing. The container is simple but convenient. The flip-top lid stays securely closed, and the small metal cutter makes it easy to tear off the amount I need cleanly instead of fighting with the floss to get it to separate properly. The compact size also makes it easy to keep in a purse or toiletry bag without taking up much room. The 55-yard length lasts quite a while, especially for something used consistently. There are not really any unusual or innovative features here, but it feels dependable, reliable and easy to work with for everyday oral care. Plus, the price for this floss compared to other comparable flosses felt like an excellent value for the cost considering the great quality, generous amount of floss, easy use and durability. Overall, this has been a great option to keep in our bathroom for daily use.
My hygienist recommends dental floss over the floss picks. So, on her advice, I switched to what she said would do a better job of cleaning around my teeth —tried-and-true dental floss. I was a little scared the floss would shred, but I haven't had any issues yet. I brush my teeth three to four times a day, so the Equate brand is saving me on dental care costs, even for floss.
My grandson uses dental floss to sew patches on his jeans, hats, and various other articles of clothing. The minty smell doesn't seem to bother him. He likes it better than actual sewing thread and goes through a lot of it so I order it by the 12 pack.
My teeth are too close together so they shred this cheap floss and it gets stuck. I have to use more expensive floss. If I didn't have that problem then it would be fine. It's the same problem I have with the floss the dentist give out for free so if you can use that then you should be fine with this.
I love the minty flavor and the price but it gets caught in between terth and and then comes apart into multiple threads without any wax on them. You have to constantly get new pieces. Not even close to the minoot amount of wax needed and the strength of the floss is next to nothing either. Not a good value if you need 10 pieces to do your mouth.
Terrible performance. Prone to shredding and leaving behind tiny filaments in my teeth. Right into the trash; not even worth the effort to return. When it comes to basic floss, spend the extra $0.60 on a reputable brand-- namely REACH. Unfortunately, this is one such case where the EQUATE brand is not a viable substitute at all-- such that the product in question can hardly perform its basic function.
Awful! Just dreadful awful. This was a substitute and what a waste of money. Hard to tear and the threads are loose. So it was like trying to floss with a bird nest. Pieces got stuck in my teeth. After that, I trashed it.
For the price, most Walmart products are very good. This is not one of them. It seems like the dental floss is covered with some type of smelly oily substance and the thread separates while being used.
I was attracted by the low price, but this floss was disappointing. I have closely spaced teeth, and it shredded easily, leaving strands of floss stuck between my teeth that I had to pick out. It also becomes very slippery when wet, making it hard to hold onto, and it's as thin as sewing thread. I won't be buying this again. Fool me once, shame on you.
Used to be good quality product. Couldn't get for awhile. When it came back, I ordered 4 of them. The quality has gone completely downhill. Have old one in car from years ago and works well. Now I'm still stuck with three that fray and seem thinner. I'm using just to use up but I hate the fight I have each time. Something changed in the way you make this product and I will no longer buy.
