no sense in buying a national brand for a soup. this worked well. as far as flavor..there really wasnt any and i could have made the soup without the hominy. But the 1st time making it i did want to follow the recipe, which did turn out well.

I am southern old school and love hominy. Some retailers don't even carry it anymore. And when I did find it, I could taste the lye in it. Walmart's still has that old school great taste and quality- just like hominy did decades ago.

works well in native American dishes ,fried with bacon onions and jalapenos good in salads with black beans or pintos ,good in casserole with cheese , excellent in soups

I like hominy with fried potatoes. Just as tasty with mashed or boiled potatoes. Good with breakfast. Bacon and eggs or sausage or ham and eggs, hash brown potatoes and hominy. Very good as a side dish with any fried fish dinner.

I open a can of white homeny, drain off the juice, then put a Tablespoon of butter and course ground black pepper, cooking it in a frying pan until it begins to pop in the frying pan.

This is absolutely awesome and soups of all types. It's amazing how good it taste fried and butter to share with eggs, bacon or sausage and it's really good also.

My mother hated hominy and fed it to us when she was in a bad mood. I crave it in a cereal bowl with nothing but butter added.

Great Value Canned White Hominy Can, 15.5 oz is a pantry staple of mine. The price is ok, but could be better and more affordable. White Hominy is good for soups, homemade chili and cheesy dips to eat with chips!!

stick to the Bush brand stay away from great value brand. the kernels are supposed to be firm and you can easily tell them apart from one another unfortunately and great values brand I have tried this brand before with the same experience and this is the last time I will purchase them because it's literally a pile of mush I do not recommend this product.

These items were for my long term pantry storage. 10 of the 24 cans received were dented to badly dented. Never again will I order some thing to be shipped by Walmart.
