We add bacon bits and bacon grease along with a little onion. The only thing better (IMO) would be the fresh green beans in season, but who has time for all that snapping and cooking all day? Better yet, these taste just as good as brand name canned green beans.
These whole green beans are the closest to fresh picked beans, in taste, texture and consistency, with frequent purchases throughout the years. The taste of GV Cut green beans is different from the GV whole green beans, and definitely not as delicious. I am pleased to give the canned GV whole green beans my enthusiastic approval.
I like canned green beans. They have the right flavor and texture, they are great in soups, quick to become the green vegetable for dinner, and, my favorite, wonderful in a cold salad.
Delicious and my go-to for green beans. I enjoy putting it on the flat griddle but also boil or microwave. Aside from a side-dish, I use it in soups, casseroles, etc. I only eat whole green beans… not cut or French.
I was actually surprised that the whole beans are small and delish. I was expecting large ugly beans, but oh, man, I won't ever buy cut green beans ever again. These are so tender and delish……just wow!! Perfect to add to my dinners. Yum!
Our dog's favorite snack, well.., and carrots maybe. He's 11 years old and still fit and trim. He gets lots of snacks, but he really loves Great Value Whole Green Beans. Sure, he would probably love liverwurst more.., but he ain't getting it.
I have been purchasing these green beans for quite some time and they were great. The last batch that I purchased were absolutely horrible. It seems like they cooked them for quite some time. They are limp and the quality is poor. I hope they revert back to the way that they use to be, which was plump and very good. I don't know if I got a bad batch or if they have changed the way they process the beans
WHAT DID YOU DO WALMART!! These GV Whole Green Beans used to be wonderful.. better than any name-brand canned green bean we've tried! They were delicious straight from the can.. no seasoning even added! Now they are TERRIBLE! You must have switched your supplier because they went from being a delicious, perfectly cooked product to a bland, over-cooked' slimy mess! The last 2 times ive bought this product I've ended up throwing them away. My family is so disappointed %26 I no longer would recommend these to anyone. Please go back to the previous supplier who made these for Walmart/Great Value...
I was so frustrated with the national brand because they no longer fill the can with beans, but are 1/3 water so these have been my "go to" brand of whole green beans for many years. Something (2026) has changed. The quality has dropped and the beans are actually mushy straight out of the can. The can is full but the beans are not good. Please change back to the previous supplier. I now have to go to another store to get green beans which are a staple in our home.
These green beans are not the same as before. they were actually whole green beans Now they are pieces of green beans and have stems in every can I open.
