I have been purchasing store brands forever and find it especially important these days. Great Value offers many items and this is one that I use and keep stocked in the pantry. My opinion is the price and quality of their pasta is just as good as the more expensive brands.
I love pasta of all kinds but, my guilty pleasure is elbow macaroni with melted butter. My kids are grown and it's just my husband and I each night at dinner. He loves red meat so sometimes he will grill a steak, and I have a big bowl of buttered macaroni. I also use Great Value Elbows Pasta in macaroni salad and goulash and homemade macaroni and cheese. It is convenient to keep on hand and holds well in the pantry. The Great Value brand is very tasty and economical.
Love this macaroni price amount everything. They cook in amount 10min. Don't lose texture, don't stick together. I use for macaroni salad just add cut ham and block cheese 2 cans of corn and mayo and pepper salt to taste ways meal or side dish for parties or quick dinner or lunch. Pantry staple in my house
I would put Great Value Elbows Pasta, in the 32 oz size against any "name brand" pasta. It's taste and texture is up to par with any other elbow pasta out there. My pantry has several clear large airtight totes, packed with boxes of this product. The versatility, and value simply can't be beat. The key to any well stocked pantry, is food that can be utilized in many ways, but is also affordable. Great Value Elbows Pasta, 32 oz makes that possible. I highly recommend purchasing several boxes in the 32 oz size before prices increase. We have all seen the devastation of the wheat farms going on right now. In these uncertain times, a well stocked but affordable pantry is not just a good idea but completely vital. Great Value pastas, help me make my pantry versatile, wholesome, as well as practical.
Pasta isn't terribly expensive, however you do try to save where you can. I've always purchased the name brand until all places and prices began going up. Mac and cheese was the test and it was great oddly enough it seems to take a bit longer to cook, but it works perfectly for all my favorites
Just made a recipe with this macaroni and wow it is good stuff. I made a great chili and put it in there to make it even more filling and more calories. It's as good as any brand I've ever used and a lot more affordable. Cooked up well and I'm planning on only using this Great Value macaroni when I need more. I plan on using this for mac and cheese with vegetables such as broccoli next as a side dish for meatloaf.
I like it! But then again, I don't have a sophisticated palette either. Macaroni is macaroni to me. If you are a true pasta lover, buy a name brand. If you're like me and just want some pasta, then buy this!
I eat these elbows all the time. I make yummy mac and chee on the stove or I cook them in the slow cooker with spaghetti sauce and meatballs, it's really the ultimate convenience. Elbows are great when the carb cravings come upon you, cook 'em up and enjoy the ultimate comfort food. Highly recommended.
Received two boxes that were crushed, and the contents spilled out into the bottom of the shipping box. Walmart thought it was a good idea to package two boxes of pasta with six 96oz bottles of apple juice for shipping. This isn't the first time they've shipped items this way. They won't take responsibility.
I ordered whole wheat elbow macaroni 1 lb boxes I can't eat this fine wheat product due to cirrosis of the liver and I directed no substitutions I don't want to pay for 4lbs of processed white flour
