Split pea soup and ham. Love to have the dry split beans in my pantry as staple item. Easy no hassle soup, great for the crock pot or on the stove. So good for the fall/winter season sitting by the fire and bowl or cup of hot soup to warm you up

The size of these bags is perfect for soup. The ease of use with these split peas is great. Just dump the nag in the pot and add your other ingredients. No re hydration time needed. The color is appetizing. A nice hot bowl of pea soup on a cold or rainy day makes for a great snack.

It is wonderful that Great Value offers such a great variety of dried bean and pea products. They are very nutritious. The instructions on the package are easily understood and make preparation easy. I like to make a pound bag and use it throughout the week in salads, soups, to make dips, burgers, and as a main course. They are really versatile. They are shelf stable and they can even be planted in the garden.

Good dried peas with taste the same as brand names. Only complaint I have is that they have skyrocketed in price. I often make split pea soup to freeze and use 2 packages, so the costs add up. Price has increased by around 40-50%.

We use these to make (meatless) split pea soup with onion garlic and fresh herbs and it always tastes delicious, very sweet! A simple meal which is a terrific source of protein for my husband who needs to eat gluten free, low in oxalate foods. We buy quite a few at a time so we have them on hand. This last time one of the bags was open but I believe it may have been nicked when the case was opened.

Perfect split pea soup without ham in a jiffy. If you have a big pot you should make two bags and freeze the leftovers.

Oh, these are my favorite split peas to use. They cook up great every time, even when making pea soup in the cockpot. Have tried other brands and the peas remain hard and do not mush up for soup. These, always come out perfect!!

The quality is fine, I mean, they're dried beans, how can you go wrong. My main complaint is the price, which has been creeping up steadily recently without justification. There's virtually zero labor that goes into these staples, yet the price is keeping pace with other products. Worse, some cheaper brands are intentionally no longer carried to make Great Value seem like a better deal when it isn't. In summary, look for these staples in bulk elsewhere, you may be surprised by how much you save. Walmart really letting us down here...

I purchased this to put with my food storage in air tight containers. I've been doing this for a while, when I tried to cook this last batch in the crockpot they would not dissolve. I keep adding water and trying to see if the would dissolve. this is the fourth day. These can't be real split peas. waisted a whole pot of soup.
