We go through lots of these bags of split peas for split pea soup in the winter. Thank goodness Walmart always has them in stock %26 at a very reasonable price. Healthy too!!

I enjoy a lot of grains and legumes as my sole source of protein. These split peas are great with carrots, onions, and potatoes simmered in a vegetable broth. As long as I am careful not to overcook, these come out tasty and hearty every time.

I like the fact that it can be stored almost indefinitely, till we cook a boiled dinner. I always use the broth and leftovers for pea soup. I make big pots full and freeze it. My friend's look forward to homemade soup.

It was fine, but I would really like to know why a bag of split peas cannot be bought in the store and has not been available for well over a year!! Ridiculous!!

Split pea soup and ham. Love to have the dry split beans in my pantry as staple item. Easy no hassle soup, great for the crock pot or on the stove. So good for the fall/winter season sitting by the fire and bowl or cup of hot soup to warm you up

The size of these bags is perfect for soup. The ease of use with these split peas is great. Just dump the nag in the pot and add your other ingredients. No re hydration time needed. The color is appetizing. A nice hot bowl of pea soup on a cold or rainy day makes for a great snack.

It is wonderful that Great Value offers such a great variety of dried bean and pea products. They are very nutritious. The instructions on the package are easily understood and make preparation easy. I like to make a pound bag and use it throughout the week in salads, soups, to make dips, burgers, and as a main course. They are really versatile. They are shelf stable and they can even be planted in the garden.

Equally comparable to the named brands. They're meant to turn to mush in a split pea soup. So what does the brand matter? These being good quality and the lowest price make the most reasonable purchase.

The quality is fine, I mean, they're dried beans, how can you go wrong. My main complaint is the price, which has been creeping up steadily recently without justification. There's virtually zero labor that goes into these staples, yet the price is keeping pace with other products. Worse, some cheaper brands are intentionally no longer carried to make Great Value seem like a better deal when it isn't. In summary, look for these staples in bulk elsewhere, you may be surprised by how much you save. Walmart really letting us down here...
