I went through a weird phase were I was on a quest to make the best homemade pizza and I tried just about every sauce from very expensive to this Great Value one and I love this sauce, of course it had to be the very last one I tried, but it's good, and because I don't use the entire jar at one time I store the leftover sauce in the fridge and it keeps good! This sauce has a very nice flavor that don't cook away, the consistency is perfect for pizza and perfect for dipping pizza rolls or bread sticks in to! Try it and enjoy!
I think this Great Value pizza sauce has very good flavor. To me even though you might have a lot of cheese and toppins and only a thin layer of sauce it's the taste of the sauce that is the key ingredient to making it a good pizza. I highly recomnend this sauce.
Ideal for a quick yet inexpensive meal. Perfect on an english muffin or tortilla to make a quick pizza. Not too spicy or runny for a crust. Oregano, garlic, and onion are just right as sauce for a homemade pizza. I add turkey pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms and two per cent cheeses for a fast and low calorie pizza. I use in my meatloaf if I want Italian style. Family favorite!
This is the best pizza sauce that Walmart offers: its own. I have a favorite that I have purchased at another local grocery store, a named brand, that I buy from there. I don't know whether or not the two would taste the same in a blind taste test and think it's possible they could be made at the same place.
Great Value Pizza Sauce in the jar seriously impressed me. The flavor is well-balanced — rich tomato base with just the right blend of herbs and seasoning. It’s not overly sweet or watery, and it spreads easily across the crust without making it soggy. For the price, the quality is outstanding. It tastes just as good as more expensive brands and works perfectly for homemade pizzas, pizza bread, or even as a dipping sauce. It has officially become my go-to pantry staple for pizza night. Affordable, flavorful, and dependable — hard to beat.
Like many other things I’m very picky about my pizza sauce. I like to make homemade pizza and it’s so important to use a really great pizza sauce. Great Value pizza sauce is really great. It’s not too thin or too thick. It’s just right and the flavor is great.
I love and recommend the Old style with the Green tops. 100% the best even above the name brands, but its been changed to a gold top and the flavor is different. It seems sweeter. I am not a fan, I want the old style back or make it in 2 seperat flavors.
This is actually very good. We make homemade pizza in our house on a weekly basis and have discovered Great Value pizza sauce is as good if not better than the more expensive brands. If you haven't tried it yet you should consider it. Makes a great tasting pizza!
Not very thick, but not too watery ether. If you like a thick sauce, I'd try something else. And even though it worked well for my pizza, I do think it's best to add some extra Italian seasoning if you really want that pizzeria flavor. I still give it four stars because the price was cheap, at just over a buck.
Super watered down! Could see but not taste spices. Had Aldirnate pizza sauce jar half full so I used the rest on half pizza and this on the other half. No comparison—GV brand pizza sauce was an insult to anyone who bought it. Runny with zero texture or flavor.
