These roasted red bell pepper slices are one of those pantry staples that quietly elevate a meal. The jar was well sealed, and the peppers looked vibrant and evenly sliced right out of the container. The texture is tender without being mushy, and they have that slightly smoky, naturally sweet flavor you expect from properly roasted peppers. I've added them to sandwiches, tossed them into pasta, and even layered them on homemade pizza. They blend beautifully without overpowering other ingredients. The liquid they're packed in keeps them moist but not overly vinegary, which I appreciate. Pros: Great flavor, consistent slices, versatile for many dishes. Cons: Once opened, they need to be used within a reasonable time to maintain freshness. Helpful tip: Pat them dry before adding to salads or wraps to avoid excess moisture. A simple photo of the vibrant slices layered on a sandwich would really show their quality.
The peppers have a good flavor. There's not enough char on them for me, but they are in a jar. The size of each piece is decent, if you like you can tear them or chop them smaller, I used them on pizza. Flavor was very good.. excellent price point . So happy to find these for off-season when the garden is not growing..
The red bell peppers are tasty. I use them for hotdogs and on pizza. An idea was to decrease the amount of ingredients needed to put on food. It doesn't replace pickles or onions but does help in a pinch. Some of the peppers will have burn marks on them for when they were roasted.
My body doesn't tolerate tomatoes which can make some desired recipes a challenge. But I have found that roasted red peppers make a great sub for tomatoes in so many recipes! I use these to make pizza sauce, bbq sauce, in place of tomatoes in baked and stovetop recipes and in place of pimentos as well! And these Great Value are my favorites. Once they are opened, they don't last a real long time in the fridge so they should be used quickly once the jar is opened. They are available at such a great price and they taste wonderful, too! And the thin sliced make meal prep so easy! Absolutely love these!!!
I use roasted red peppers all the time in my home cooking. When fresh red peppers are on sale in the grocery stores, I like to roast my own peppers and freeze them. However, with the current grocery prices, I find these jarred roasted red peppers to be a very convenient substitute and the best price I can find right now.
Great roasted flavor!! Better than I can make myself and so convenient. Love them in scrambled eggs, in fajitas and stir fry. Great on pizza; love the texture too.
I love to have these on hand for antipasto, cucumber salad, or sauces. They are inexpensive, taste ok when I don't want picked red peppers, and the oil they are in keeps well. Good staple item.
First, I ordered them online and had them delivered. The safety seals were already popped on three of the 12 jars that were delivered. Walmart DID immediately reimburse me for those jars however. Second, the peppers are not as well-roasted as the other brands I typically buy. They don't actually taste roasted. Third, I think they're a bit overpriced for the amount. I'd probably still buy them if nothing else was available. Lastly, the jars are an excellent size to store spices in.
I guess one really needs a good use for them which I don't have. I bought them thinking I might like them in some soups and chili but I really didn't care for them. They don't seem to have much flavor.
Twice now, I have purchased this item and found a mass of mold on top. The lid was still sealed, but inside was a massive black chunk of some of the most disgusting matter I have ever seen. Both times it has made me gag, and I have had to just throw the whole thing away. I will be purchasing a new brand from now on. This disappoints me a great deal, I am usually a huge fan of great value products.
